Stranded

"hi I'm Raina and I'm about to kill my dad if he keeps trying to use his messed up leg!" she said more twords her dad

 

"Perhaps your job should be keeping an eye on the wounded. You seem really good at that. We will bring back food and water."

 

"ok...be carful"

 

"I will. There will be others coming from the other boats when we find them so yell if there are too many people fro you to deal with."

 

"ok...do u think the others survived?"

 

Matt scanned the forest with steady eyes. It was thick and would be hard to treck through but it had to be done. "Ready Miss Dubois?"

ooc: can't stay long. Halloween party to ge to.

 

"Of course I am ready. This is like deer hunting at home. Lets find out what lives in there." Clarisse moved quietly and swiftly , watching and listening for animal movement.

 

Matt was surprised at her swiftness. She wasn't bad for someone who had probably just been pampered all her life. He touched the tree bark and scuffed his toe in the dirt, searching for a sorce of water nearby.

 

Clarisse smiled to herself. She had tracked down suitable prey and went in for the kill. Carrying the small deer over her shouldered she took it to a suitable place to clean and then returned towards Matt and the camp. She guessed that he thought she was soft, but he was in for a big surprise.

 

Matt saw a small trickle of water when he dug the toe of his boot into the soft soil. Water... and close. He looked towards the camp. He would only be gone for a moment to find the stream and he'd be back. No problem...

 

Clarisse carved up the deer with an expert skill. She wanted to show the others that she was not just some spoilt rich woman. Collecting wood for the fire to cook the meat she then set about collecting fruit to go with it. As she walked past the captain she checked that he was alright. The loss would have hit him hard and she assured him that this would affect nothing. Once they were rescued he would have a new top of the line ship to command and his choice of crew. She admired the way he had handled a very difficult situation and that his crew had worked together so well without panicking.

 

The captain ordered a few of the crew to go out into the shallows and catch fish for the cook who had survived in their life-boat. He was uncertain where the other life boats had docked and a group would be searching the island for them later.

Matt was exhausted. He hadn't slept in who knows how long, but he still had work to do. He still had passengers to take care of. He stumbled around near the edge of the forest, looking for dry fire wood.

 

"You should rest Matt. I will collect firewood. If you want a job then you can watch the meat cooking over the one fire we have. I can work in your place. You are almost about to collapse and we can't have that."

 

Matt ran his arm over his eyes. "I'm alright. Seriously. It's my job. You're a passenger on this...journey. We're suppose to take care of you while you relax. Not the other way around, miss."

ooc: ill be right back.

 

"Well I hate to break this to you but situations have changed and I do work for the same company, even if I am the Managing Director. Now rest and let me work. I hate burnt meat by the way."

 

Matt nodded with a weak smile. "Thanks, miss Dubois." He went to the fire and slumped down next to it, eyes half closed.

 

"Call me Clarisse please." She walked off to get wood, smiling to herself. Matt was exhausted and needed to rest and she was the one to get him to rest.

 

The captain walked up to Clarisse with a nod. "Alright there, Mademoiselle?"

bic: "Everything is fine. I am currently collecting wood and have caught a deer to eat. Please do not worry as I am perfectly capable of helping out. Your crew need to rest however as they are on the edge of exhaustion."

 

"I have ordered them to rest. Many of them are feeling anxious though. They work on their own account. It's instinct to help out with most of them. The...dilema must have hit them mighty hard."
