I don't really see Axel's name in a feminine way.
But it's good to finally know what his name is. xDD

 

I actually liked Lea (feminine way of saying it) for a guy's name. It sounded cool...until you reminded me of the Star Wars princess.

 

If anything it will be pronounced "Lee-ah" not "lay-ah" like star wars. I'm sure this has already been mention but all the names have been crossed over exactly as the Japanese have pronounced them save Vexen (lolz Vixen) taking this in I'd assume that they'd fix it as they did Vexen's and instead of it sounding like 'Ree-ah' it would be 'Lee-ah' simply to make up for the Japanese lack of the 'L' sound

 

Well considering how this is a Japanese made game, it could be possible for the name to be a used for both genders. It would be such a plot twist if Axel's somebody turned out to be a girl, though in all actuality I find it hard to believe it will happen just because of the circumstances.

It doesnt matter if Lea sounds feminine.

If Sora sounds feminine, that's because Sora from digimon was a girl

and even though they are spelled differently, RIku is a guy, and Rikku is a girl.

Deal with it.

 

Oh , but Tetsuya Nomura said Axel is based on Reno from FF VII...
And his Name is because of Reno´s favourite Beer, called "Alé"

I really dont care if he was based on Reno, and I dont care if it was because of Ale. Axel is a different character. End of Story

PLus if there was an accent on the "e" in "Ale" then the "e" in "axel" would also be accented

This is probably a stupid question (and I don't know if someone else has asked this...), but what about Cissnei from Crisis Core FF7? She's got the same type of weapon as Axel and she also said that "Cissnei" wasn't her real name. Anyway, I haven't played many FF games, so I have no idea.

 

lol. You are trying too hard......Looks nothing like him. Has nothing to do with anything. The weapon is a lot different that Axel's chakrams. It just has a similar style. A times character design can be similar, but from a different realm and reality universe.

"Cissnei"s weapon is basically a larger sized, and modern Shinra styled, shuriken.

Axel's chakrams are...chakrams.

The only thing they have in common is that they both work like frisbees.

This kind of connection is just as bad as me believing that Reno is Larxene because he has a rod that electrocutes people o.o.

 

I wasnt surprised when i found out it was either that or Ale...but what did surprise me was that Axel and Saix were close friends when they were somebodies.

I figured that out after I heard Roxas

 

There do need to be more female members~! Especially in the organization~! [nod nod.] But, the name リア, or Lea is unisex. So that does mean that his nobody could have been either male or female. I wish that they talked more about things like this, but I guess they leave it open so fans can have their opinions and try to guess about the nobodies. >w<;
