Soul Eater- A Witch's Academy is on the Rise?

Picking out Kid's footsteps, Zoey smiled in triumphant as she walked. "Nothing's the matter, I just wanted to say hi. Merlie and Kirby told me and my partner a little bit about you. You sound like an interesting person." Zoey didn't mean any harm with her words. She was just trying to make light conversation.

"Likewise," Koji said as he let go of Seth's hand. He was about to ask for Seth's partner's name, but he saw that Maka was starting to slow down and fell silent.


"Actually, we're here." Maka stood in front of the doors to the Death Room and waited for everyone else to catch up. She really didn't want Fae to come inside, but knowing Lord Death, she knew that the headmaster could handle himself if something went wrong. Plus, the strongest weapons and miesters were there to see to it that no trouble would happen. Seeing that everyone was waiting, Maka pushed open the door and walked inside. "Hello?"

On cue, Lord Death turned away from his mirror and faced the students. "Hiya kids! Thanks for coming down!" Seeing the students that were summoned were filing in, a little sweat drop appeared on Lord Death's head. "Oh my, I didn't realized how many students I actually called until just now. Oh well, we can still give you the two missions. Come on in! Don't be shy~."

 

Seth crossed his arms and smiled as he looked over at Lord Death. He was glad to see him face to face once more but was pretty surprised that Lord Death was already assigning missions I guess the Medusa situation is getting pretty out of hand Seth thought to himself but shrugged it off and walked in with Drake

Death the Kid closed his eyes and smiled "why thank you. It will be a pleasure to work along side" Death the Kid said as he adjusted his tie and walked in and looked over at his father

Stein looked over at the students that Lord Death had welcome and smiled when he saw the returning student and recalled the moments he spent with them in the past semester. He then looked over at the new students and used soul perception to examine their souls. Impressive Stein thought to himself as he looked at Zoey, Koji, Merlie, Kirby, Lea and Fay's souls. The moment he examined Fae's soul he could tell something was wrong

 

Fae looked at Lord Death, giggling. "Hello Lord Death." she chimed, trying to strike a good impression. She looked at Stien, a bit un-nerved by the number of stiches on him. She noticed he was staring at the bird witch an odd way, too which she looked herself over. 'Is he annoyed with my appearance?' She thought quietly to herself. Thank goodness Lord Death was not as creepy as Stien, so she could stand around a bit more. "So, Lord Deathh, what're the missions?" She was eager to get going, and maybe have the chance to fly again.

 

Soul stayed by Maka, hands in his pockets. He looked around after Death's remark about the number of students and realized how large a group they really were. "Two missions, huh?" He mumbled, half to Maka and half to himself. That meant their group here would be split up -- who was going with who?

Kirby let go of Merlie's hand once they were in the Death Room. His eyes scanned every inch of the room before lying on Death and Stein. He'd only heard about Lord Death from Kid, this was his first time seeing the reaper. He'd never heard of Stein though, but figued he was a teacher here. He's gotta know about me if he's a teacher. That's... unsettling. He gives me the creeps.

Tingles went up and down Merlie's back at the sight of Stein. She wondered who he was and what position he held at the school. If he was a teacher, he must know about the new students. Merlie finally let her thoguhts rest on what kind mission they'd be going on and who with.
"Excuse me, Lord Death," Merlie began, "but I have a question. Why did you call us new students here?"

 

Maka was kind of surprise but then again kind of not when Lord Death said that there would be two missions. "This has to be serious," Maka said quietly to Soul. She looked over at Fae, watching her carefully. 'She seems pretty upbeat.'

"One question at a time now!" Lord Death said cheerfully while waving his large hands around to stop the questions before more were asked. "I think the logical way to answer the questions will be to answer Merlie's question first. I've called you and these other new students because you and the others already found your partner before or right after you came to the DWMA." Lord Death pointed to the ceiling, and said, "I think that shows great potiental what you're capable of." He then paused and looked over the students, making a quick count in his head. "Hmm... but there seems to be an odd number of students then what I've called here." His head turned to Fae, and stayed there for a bit. He found the odd student. He hopped over to Fae and then stopped four feet in front of her, but then leaned down almost to her height. "How do you spell your name?"

 

"F-A-E! Fae Bird, at your service Lord Death!" Fae giggled, then frowned. "Um... Lord Death, I don't have a partner... Is that a problem? I have my metal rod, could that be my weapon?" She took out her rod, examining it. Was she called by mistake, was there some other person with an almost identical name?

• Soul Finder- Can sense a soul and tell exactly where it is, as long as it is in a 200 meter radius.

• 
  Blue Spirit- Blue energy forms a sphere around Yuki's body, his body absorbs the energy, and he turns a sky blue color. In this state, he has the power to send out a massive blast of blue energy at anywhere he chooses. But all this power has a price. After using "Blue Spirit", it takes 7/8 of his energy and he can't move until he regains enough energy (which takes about 10-15 min). He only uses this when someone else is around or when it's a huge emergency.

• Blue Will- Basically "Blue Spirit" but to a much (much) smaller scale and takes about 1/10 of his energy. He uses this when he doesn't have his Weapon.

• Blue Soul- He uses this move to his Weapon only. Because he and his Weapon are the same soul wavelength, he can transfer as much energy as he pleases to his Weapon. A blue stream connects the two and it takes about 5-10 seconds (depending on how much energy he gives).

Powers: "Seeking for Partner" (What abilities you have… and I guess if you’re waiting, just put “Seeking for partner†in here, and you two can conjure ideas. Just don’t explode the whole world)
Bio: Yuki grew up on the streets of a skeezy small town. His parents abandoned him when he was 7 as a "birthday present" to him. He had to learn how to fight and make quick escapes (which requires speed, obviously) in order to survive. He thought that if he would be optimistic all the time, good things would happen and he would be able to leave this town (what he called) "a prison." He finally got a chance to run away from a bunch of thugs and ended up in Death City. There, he found out about his powers and that he was a meister (by an unknown source). He decided to enroll into the DWMA to find his Weapon partner and hone his skills. (It can be brief, but at least let us know a little of your past and about you)
Extras: His favorite number is 9 (which is on his hat). His favorite number is 9 because that was the age he finally left "the prison."

Lea leaned closer towards Fay, her eyes remaining on Fae when Lord Death called the unknown girl forward. "Hey," she whispered towards her partner. "Do you think she seems a little...off?"

Fay's brows furrowed when she heard Lea speak, her gaze momentarily landing on Fae. "Kind of," she whispered back, surprised the girl's name was spelled almost like her own. "Shush," she told Lea, hearing her partner breathe in, knowing she was going to ask another question.

Medusa pressed her feet against the ground, standing up as the "tail" of her outfit removed itself from the ground. "You maybe go now," she said, answering Sekira's question. "Once you have collected the humans' souls, come back here." She turned away from the students and began walking away.

 

At Fae's extraordinarily happy response to Lord Death, Soul wasn't sure if he should laugh or scoff. Did she know that nearly everyone in the room was at least slightly suspicious of her?

Kirby watched Fae differently than everyone else. He liked her upbeat attitude and smiling disposition. She was like Patty to him; and that kind of personality was opposite his (and opposites attract, no?). He grinned at Fae, half wishing he could be her weapon (but he was already with Merlie and that was settled).

So Lord Death didn't mean to call her down here? Well I guess that stinks for her. But we've got to focus on what's going to happen now. What kind of mission could we be sent on before we even go to classes. Lord Death said we've got "potential" but I don't think I know what he means by that. I've never even held Kirby as a weapon before. Merlie chewed her lip in thought.

 

Lord Death kept silent as though he was seriously thinking about something. But then he let out a chuckle and stood back up. "My, my! You are willing to help, aren't you? I'm afraid this turn around, you'll be left out Fae. But don't worry, with time, I'm sure you'll catch up to everyone else! These missions are a bit too dangerous for partnerless people, even if you have a subsitute." Lord Death paused and then hopped back a couple of paces so he could have a good look at everyone else. "Okay Fae Bird, you may head back to the new student orientation. Don't fret, you're time will come soon."

Maka relaxed a little now. Lord Death didn't see Fae as a threat, so that must've meant something. She was kind of also a little relieved that this girl wasn't going to go on a mission with them. It wasn't anything against Fae, Maka was just still trying to get use to her. She almost acted like Patty and Black Star combineded... which was odd for her.

Patty watched Fae as she poked her cheek playfully. She looked a little lost what was going on, but something told her that Fae wasn't suppose to be in here. But she stayed quiet and just continued poking her cheek. She really didn't have anything to say at the moment, since she was too excited about the missions than anything else right now.

OOC: And just to clear it up, Patty is poking her own cheek. Not Fae's. XD Next post is when I'll be giving out the missions. And I'll be posting for my DSA people too.

 

Fae pouted, but nodded. "Okay Lord Death! Bye-Bye everyone!" Her cheery disposition bounced back quickly, but then turned dark and creepy. Her cold stare slightly turned to Maka. "Don't die out there." She walked out of the Death Room, returning to orientation. Her bubbly mood returned, humming a song.

 

Seth just looked over at Fae as she left and sighed in relief that she was going away ...that girl is weird...and annoyingthought the easily annoyed Seth as he closed his eyes.

Death the Kid looked over at Fae as she left and noticed her sudden change in attitude. It surprised him a bit but he didn't show it as his mind was focused on the task his father had for them. "father, what is it that you would like us to do" Kid said looking over at his dad

 

Maka stiffened when Fae spoke to her. Her voice was a little unsettling... 'Is it just because she's mad?' Or maybe she knew what Maka was thinking. She frowned as she watched Fae walk out of the Death Room and saw that the door closed behind the girl. "That girl gives me the creeps. What's her problem anyways?" Maka muttered under her breath and she turned her attention back to Lord Death.

"I'm getting to that shortly son." Lord Death said in a happy tone. "Hmm... something is a little bit unsettling with Fae Bird. But I guess we'll learn over due time, since we know what to look for from past experiences. But that's not the reason why you are all here." Lord Death again looked over each and everyone of his old and new students. "All of you know that Medusa is on the rise. She's formed an academy herself and it almost copies what we do here but does it opposite from what we do. We don't know how many kids she has with her, but we know that they're on her side and they will do anything to follow Medusa. That's all the information we have about them for the time being. Now, as I said earlier, there are two missions that I have in mind and it'll be a group effort."

Lord Death clasped his hands together and then rubbed them back and forth as he spoke. "The first mission will have the following people: Maka, Soul, Kirby, Merlie, Koji, and Zoey." Death held his hands still now, making sure that the kids were paying attention to him. "Stien will be your leader. There has been reports of younger children disappearing from Death City and other towns near by. We've also been getting reports that there's been disturbances in an abandon amusement park. I have a suspicion that these two incidents are connected, so I'm sending all of you together to have a look around. If trouble pops up, you new students look for Stien or Maka, possibly Soul too. They'll help you out. But I trust all of you have been in a tough situation before and have the experience to know what to do if you get cornered."

Zoey looked over to where she sensed Kirby and Merlie standing and smiled a bit. 'Good thing Koji was smart enough to get to know some of these kids a bit before this popped up.' Although Zoey was a bit worried. She just barely got here, and she was already being assigned a mission. Was this such a good idea?

Maka also looked over at the kids that Lord Death had pointed out. One of them was even blind... 'Why send her on a mission that had potiental danger?' Maka figured Lord Death knew what he was doing and decided not to question him so much.

"As for the second group, there's been reports about a serial killer on the loose in Rotech Town. He's very hard to catch and he's on the verge of becoming a kishin. All of you in this group will need to track him down and destroy him on the spot. And don't be tricked with how easy this sounds. He can put up a good fight! So the ones in this group are Kid, Liz and Patty, Fay, Lea, Drake, and Seth." Here he turned his head to look at Drake and Seth. "I know you two had just got back, but we need all the help we can get right now. You can choose to back down on this mission if you want to. As for your leader... Kid, would you mind leading your group?"

"Yeaaaaah~! Kid's going to be the leader!" Patty giggled happily and twirled in place. "Follow the leader!

Seeing that Medusa walked out of the room, Sekira turned her attention on Angel. 'This is it Sekira. After this, you can't turn back on your dicision.' The girl took small steps forward until she was standing in front of Angel. She looked long and hard at the girl before she spoke up. "Do you truly believe you can handle my soul wavelengths and I yours? Answer me truthfully."

Grendel sighed out in relief, happy that the students were starting to file out. Now was their chance to go get some souls. He looked over at Terra, his eyes were darken over with dread and a kind of psychotic glee. "Ready to go, Terra?"

 

Death the Kid closed his eyes and cleared his throat "I shall accept the role of leader" Kid said calmly

Seth calmly closed his eyes "Its alright Lord Death. Its been a while since I actually went on a mission so I'm pretty eager right now" Seth said opening his eyes with a grin

 

"Flying free, flying free! Up in the sky is where I want to be♪" Fae sang, walking to the auditorium. Oh the sky was the rightful place for the Birds to be. She flapped her arms, acting as if truely flying. Oh, why must all witches be feared, it was unfair!

 

Terra nodded while she watched the kids leave the room. When she looked back to Grendel she saw the look in his eyes and frowned slightly. "We should get going then. Best get there first so we can get the most souls."

Yuki peered into the orientation room and grinned. He saw a lot of potential friends in there. He slowly walked in, observing the room. "Wow, pretty nice!" He murmured to himself. He wanted to make friends, but didn't want to come on too strong, like he's desperate or something.
'I wonder if my potential Weapon could be in here as well.' He thought. He took another glance, searching for his Weapon.

 

Grendel saw the frown on Terra's face and tiled his head a little. Realizing that he was almost on the verge of loosing control already, Grendel looked away form Terra and took in a deep breath. "S-sorry..." He said, clentching his hand into a fist in frustration with himself. "Yeah, let's go then." Without saying much more, Grendel lead the way out of the room and started to walk down the hallway to the front double doors.

OOC: I'm gonna get the DSA side going here for a bit. ^^ Since you guys have been patient and such. And sure thing Andrew! Give me a second.

 

Angel was surprised at Sekira's sudden and frank question. She paused for a moment pondering over the possibility and staring at Sekira. "Of course not. Not immediately at least. But I promise you this, I will work hard to keep the both of us safe and in good graces with Miss Medusa. I will eventually learn to work with you effectively. However, I don't know if our wavelengths will match, since i haven't known you for long, but I have a good feeling about this." she replied with honesty and with a small smile. It almost felt like a job interview. Except more important.
