She rests on the Calm.
He looks after her but doesn't interfere.

 

Once the basket was full, he took it to one of Jenova's tentacles, who poured it into an invisible orb-shaped barrier and gave the basket back to him.

 

"Mom, this is foolish. You are sending your heart to the darkness."
"I don't care."

 

He was about halfway done rebuilding his sanity.

 

She places a barrier in between both of them and wraps her wings around herself.

 

"Hey Malik, do you want to help?"

 

"Sure Seph. Mom placed a barrier around herself so I don't have anything here."

 

"Then come on in."

 

He walks just a bit away from her then transfers his mind. "What do you guys need help with?"

 

He gives him another basket. "Put the black shards on the ground into the basket and when it's full, give it to Jenova's tentacles."

 

"Mom is seriously messed up. Have she always been like this?" He asks as he picks up the black shards then put them inside the basket.

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"Crying to get her way or make threats." He gives the basket to the Jenova tentacles.

 

She poured the black shards into the invisible orb and gave the basket back to him. "That doesn't sound like her at all, though the latter part sounds like my adult side."

 

"She did threaten to make suicidal falls when she could fly." He takes the basket then starts collecting again.

 

He gave the basket to the tentacles and started picking up the shards again. "Just a few more basketfuls to go."

 

"And then he will be himself again?" He hands the basket back.

 

"Jenova'll work her magic and he'll be, er, well his version of normal at least." He said as the tentacles gave the basket back.

 

He stops. "He didn't neglect Orochi, did he?"
