Sora's Darkness

He raised one of his eyebrows underneath the blindfold. "That's about the best plan I can think of at the moment."

 

He pops out behind Cloud with a syringe near his arm. "You don't have to hurt yourself. Now let go of Tai or I'll inject this liquid into him."
"Ma...ko...? What is that?"

 

He tenses. "Where did you get that?!"

 

"Somehow I heard a voice that wasn't anyone in this room." He said in a distant voice. "What does it do?"

 

"All sorts of bad and good things. It is a radioactive substance that harms anyone within contact of a large amount. It can cause disability, mutation, and sometimes death. It was injected into me before birth along with the alien cells, that's the reason why my eyes glow green."

 

"Very good. At least we know one of few reasons why you are a General. Now, hand him over or Cloud will be injected with heavy dosage."
"You said there's good things about it. What would happen to a Somebody?"

 

"It all depends on them. The SOLDIERs had to be injected with the alien cells and had a mako shower before joining, if they could get through both they could join. I still remember hearing the bloodcurdling screams that the people who could not pass both emitted. I think Cloud couldn't get past the mako showers and when he got the mako into his system he entered a catatonic state."

 

"It could happen again." He whispers audibly for him to hear. "You make the decision on this trade, Sephiroth."
He intends to inject it and inches closer to the skin.

 

"Fine, you give us Cloud and the mako and we'll give you Tai. Deal?"

 

He raises an eyebrow. "And the scientific object from your world? What are your concerns about one measly bit of mako? No explanation, no deal."

 

"I'll give you a few reasons. You don't know what you're messing with. If you don't inject it into Cloud, then who knows what you'll inject it into. You'll probably experiment on Heartless with it, and who knows what monstrosities you'll create with it."

 

He ponders a bit then places the mako on his belt. "Fine, you get Strife." He said as he shoves the man in his twenties to the ex-General. "Since I just heard your little suspicion about the deal, I think I would rather keep it instead."

 

"It's either with Cloud and the mako or without. But since you just gave us Cloud..." He smirked. "I wasn't promoted to General for my strength alone. Oh, and about the mako, any creature you inject with it has a 95% chance of dieing immediately, the other 5% will die a slow, agonizing death."

 

"What about Tai?" He asks as he taps his foot impatiently. "You shouldn't be worrying about the creature that will be injected."

 

"What about him? We already have Cloud, and you said that you'll keep the mako, so I think we'll be keeping him for now, unless you are willing to part with a certain vial of green radioactive liquid."

 

He narrows his eyes and snorts. "Think again." He snaps his fingers and Tai disappears from the scruff of its neck. "Who ever said I play fair?" He smirks as he teleports.

 

He growled. "Great, just great. We have a maniac and a Heartless running around with a vial of mako."

 

"I'm worried about that too. The old one would simply hand it back, but now it is hard to predict what his intentions are." He felt a hand clutching his shirt.
"Sorry. I let my guard down, Sephiroth. Sora doesn't plan to use it on Tai at all." He said weakly.
He takes the syringe out of his belt then turns to face Tai. "You must protect me, whatever it takes, Tai."
It nods.

 

"We can't even be sure of that anymore. If I had gotten it, I would have just disposed of that wretched substance and be done with it."

 

He dabs his skin with the cotton ball then turns to look at the mako place on the table.
"Guilt, uncertain, anxiety..." He turns to face Sephiroth. "What do you think is going through his head?"
"I'm picking up those same thoughts. Was it wise to leave him alone like that? It is just like saying an infant playing with poison."
