"Maybe it's immune to fire somehow?"

 

"I'm not going to test that theory for you, ok?"

 

She put it on Ifrit and it stayed as it was. "Looks like it's true."

 

He pets his aeon in praise. "So, how do we know we could trust this thing?"

 

"All plants follow my will, plus it's looking at me like I'm its leader or something."

 

"If it is immune to fire, wouldn't it live somewhere close to volcanoes?"

 

She shrugged. "You think there's more?"

 

He lies down on the floor while his Ifrit curls around him.

 

She snuggled up next to him while being careful not to touch Ifrit.

 

He wrapped his arms around her. "Where's your aeon?"

 

She summoned a Bahamut hatchling.

 

He scratches under its chin. "Yours is really young."

 

It let out a happy squeak.

 

He falls asleep.
She winces in pain. "Chaos."

 

It curled up into a ball next to them as its summoner fell asleep. "Is it time?"

 

"Y-yes."
"Ready to get up?"

 

He stood up while carrying Garnet in his arms. The nurse came back in and started helping her through delivery.

 

"What are we going to do now?"
She clutches the sheets tightly as she puts effort.

 

He walked back to the castle. He squeezed her hand tightly.

 

She tilts her head.
She squeezes back harder then stops and take some breaths.
