"You now have a half-brother-in-law." He mumbled into her hair. She gently took it in her hands.

 

"You mean my half-uncle. We didn't get married yet."

 

He shrugged as he moved her hand to his hair. "Close enough."

 

She strokes his hair.

 

He gently opened her mouth and touched one of her little fangs with a finger.

 

"What are you doing?"

 

He shrugged as he moved his finger to her tongue. He caressed his wife's cheek.

 

She licks his finger gently.
She purrs softly.
She heads over to her parents.

 

He pricked his finger on her fang before pressing the wound against her tongue.

 

"Ask if they know when Avery is due."
She licks his wound until it stops bleeding. "Did anyone tell you your blood is addicting as a drug?"

 

"No, though Luana always expressed her liking of it." "Any day now."

 

She removes her father's finger from her mouth. "What do you mean?"

 

"She loved the taste of my blood as well. Want more?"

 

She shook her head and then pricks her finger on his fang.

 

He lovingly caressed her finger with his tongue. "She's asking you if you want anything to eat or drink."

 

She purrs.
"I guess flesh of an animal."

 

He let go and rested his head on her shoulder. He told the nurse the order and she walked out of the room, leaving the couple alone.

 

"Are you exhausted papa?"
"'Any day', huh?"

 

"...A little." He said even as he fell to his knees. "Yes."

 

"Your body betrayed you, papa. I'll let you sleep while I protect you."
"I'm not used to a vampire's life yet. Is there a book or scroll I could look at?"
