She returns it. "The kidnapper spat out lies like you don't have a heart and mom is his niece."

She pulls away like he's on fire then backs into a corner.

 

"It's alright. I still have emotions. Plus, technically I do have a heart, it's just not in my body."

 

She continues to back away. "He said that those who don't have devour those who do have. That must mean you ate mom's when I was blind!"

 

"It may be true that I devour hearts, but I would never eat one of my own family's. You all mean so much to me and I'd hate myself if I let anything happen to you. Now come on," he said as he held his hand to her palm-up, "you've worried everyone long enough and we should leave before your captor comes back. You can ask me more questions when you're safe at home."

 

She nods as she took her father's hand. "I wanna hear more once we get home."

 

He wrapped his arms around her protectively and teleported them to his room.

 

"Anything new while I was gone?"

 

"Not really except for worrying your mother to death."

 

She cringes. "How am I supposed to make up for that?"
"Could you please release Uncle's chains?"

 

"Not literally of course. She'll be happy to see you back." He shook his wife gently. "No." He said coldly.

 

"But I'm scared of her."
She rolls to the other side.
"Are you really that afraid of me, little brother?"

 

"Luana, wake up." "Afraid, no. Furious, yes."

 

"Because I harmed my sister? This little one of yours seems to care about the black sheep."
She curls up into a ball.
"Ok, looks like we came at the wrong time."

 

"There isn't really a wrong time for me to come to her." He said as he sat next to her and stroked her hair.

 

She whimpers.
"Fine, I'll just take care of my niece even though I'm like this."

 

"Good luck with that." He said as he sighed out-loud.

 

"What's wrong, dear?"
"What did my kidnapper mean by that he's my mom's uncle?"
He teleports a bird inside his prison.
She practices pouncing.
