She pulls herself closer to him as a smile appears on her face. "That doesn't matter."
She falls asleep in her father's arms.
"Papa!" She cries out in fear.

 

"Besides, about the only other person here that could contain my power is Sephiroth and he's a bit too unstable for my taste, plus I wouldn't want to deal with Jenova." "Be right back." He teleported to Sephana.

 

She places his claw hand in hers. "You are part of Vincent and Vincent is a part of you. I'm grateful to you for aiding him."
She runs away as Zack leaps across the room like a predator.

 

He leaped at Zack and snapped his jaws shut on his neck. "I'm only doing this because he has the protomateria."

 

"I know. It keeps you at bay. Still, I couldn't help but think you are his guardian even though you are just protecting the shell."
He switches from Zack's place. "M-mother..."
Her chest hurts when she felt a calling to her.

 

"That's what guardians do is protect." He spit him out and nuzzled his daughter lovingly.

 

She nuzzles her father in return. "He started something with dark powers but didn't get to finish it."
"It is strange I actually thought about you when I was a scientist."

 

"How is that strange when you were studying me?"

 

"That I chose you and Omega as my research over Jenova like Hojo."
"Can you heal without hurting me papa?"

 

"The insane and sane groups split down the middle there." He increased the volume of his voice a bit. "Not that I'm calling Jenova insane!" He said quickly. "Where are you hurt?"

 

"From my left shoulder to my hip." She answers as she cries.
Her smile reassures him. "I have to blame my kind for that."

 

He hugged her before healing her with Jenovian magic. "Knowing your son's connection with that alien, he'd kill me if he thought I was serious about that."

 

She frowns. "That would mean killing his father as well." Tears form at the corner of her eyes.
She wraps her tiny arms around him. "Thank you papa."

 

"Remember, he thought Hojo was his father this whole time and he's not used to having a father."

 

She wipes her tears. "Sorry, something else popped in my mind." She stands up then walks away.
"I heard a song that mourns. Is everything ok?"

 

He followed her. "Yes."

 

She unlocks the entrance door then takes a step outside.
"I can hear one now. Instead of a lot, there's only one that's just as sad as the last one."

 

"I'm feeling fine."

 

She shook her head. "It's not yours."
"Tell me something Chaos. Are you following me because Vincent wants you to or you are doing this on your own?"

 

"A little of both. I can feel his love for you and it pulls me towards you even though I can resist it."
