Some games don't deserve a sequel

    Yeah actually, it does. The most recent ones (starting at least on the GC) have story lines.
    Clearly someone hasn't played Mortal Kombat in a while. 8D

    Mortal Kombat for the classic aspect, Tekken for the better combat system.

    I've played both series for quite a few years (had MKII on the SNES, have MK3 for PS1, rented Apocalypse or whatever for Xbox), and Mortal Kombat is pretty freaking shallow compared to such games as Soul Calibur, Tekken, Guilty Gear, and Street Fighter, when it comes to actual combat depth. Every character feels the same to play as, and the story is unimpressive and unoriginal (but that's really unexpected as of fighting games). Mortal Kombat is the gimmick whore of fighting games. "OH WE GOT BLOOD AND GORE" is the series' staple, and thus it can't possible be compared to real fighting games.
