So remember when I said I was going to watch ALL of Doctor Who, in order?

I got through the first season of the First Doctor before I said 'screw that, I need more Matt Smith in my life'.

Would any whovians like to recommend a good place to begin for New Who? Right now I'm thinking of just starting at the beginning of Tennant's reign, but if anyone has a better idea then please feel free to tell me.

Don't worry, I'll still watch the Classic who episodes.
    Just not right now.

Also I forgot how much of a pain in the ass it is to get a compression shirt on. My chest hurts.

I say start with Blink. Or, if you want to watch Smith, The Eleventh Hour or Time of Angels.

I can't find part 2 of the second episode. Maybe I'll skip to that Five Doctors special and then do the new series.

I would say start off with Christopher, just so you can understand a little bit of what happens in the series

It wouldn't hurt to start with a bit of Christophor Eccleston. He was only in one season and you wouldn't have to watch all of them, just enough to get the gist of the BADWOLF story. There's a few important things like Jack's origins and the face of Boe you might want to catch. Aside from that, you really want to watch Blink and Midnight, and fully skip 'the wasp and the unicorn' It was extremely meh. Other than that, it's up to you :)

Thank you! He was great. Not the typical Doctor, which I loved. A more gritty and deep version of an ancient paerson with still a great personality, not to mention you get the start of him and Rose. Just do it.

    What you say intregues me.

Would anyone like to put down a few good Nine episodes to watch before I begin in on Ten?

definately watch The Long Game. That has a pretty important role later for the Ninth Doctor. Should also watch The Empty Child and the one after that, since it introduces Jack Harkness.
I can't really give too many, since the Ninth Doctor wasn't my favorite. Wasn't a bad doctor or anything, just way to serious, and he wasn't as funny as the others

If you're willing, you should start around series four and go from there.

Rose requires a bit of Eccleston beforehand or you'll be lost.

Martha had a few moments (the Family of Blood two part and Blink), but she seemed like a filler companion.

Start with Donna. She's a good entry point if you don't feel like going through the rest of the series. After Tennant, Smith is all yours.

Well I would say the first one, the last two, and oh my gosh you must watch 'the empty child' and the second part 'the doctor dances' I completely forgot, but those two are a couple of my favourite who episodes ever.

The unquiet dead has a little cameo of gwens actress from Torchwood which is sorta slightly referenced later, but if you're not a fan of Torchwood don't really bother with it. 'Dalek' is also pretty good :)
The long game has Simon Pegg in it. Make of that what you will :)

Yes I agree there. Martha kinda annoyed me tbh. However Donna was incredible and they had some really good episodes!

    Wonderful.

    One last thing;
Anyone recommend a good place to watch them, preferably with decent quality?

Tat's the thing the writers were playing on with Martha, even shr mentions it.
    She wasn't Rose.
She couldn't fill in Rose's shoes after the Doctor and her had such a deep relationship. If you put Donna right on after Rose, she wouldn't have been as good, she would've been seen as 'Not as good as Rose'.

I lost my Whoginity with some free streaming service that Amazon has. Not sure what it's called though. I'll ask my friend next time I talk with her.

I started watching from series 2 (a.k.a the start of Tennant) and could follow it but after going back to Christopher I found him to be an amazing doctor, if you want to feel the proper impact of the season finales then I suggest starting from either series 1 or 2. Preferably 1 because then 2 will make a bit more sense.

Agreed. Each of the new seasons is only thirteen episodes and a Christmas special, so start from the beginning... Of the new series.

This. D; I had been told he was a meh doctor but I really enjoyed him. Then again he was my first Doctor so I guess I haven't got a point of comparison, haha. I really enjoy Tennant and I think he's a really excellent Doctor, but I didn't feel the chemistry between him and Rose that I did with Eccleston and Rose.
