And I'm on Irvine Kinneas' page (From FF8) and I read this:

Why? Why couldn't we have gotten Irvine instead of stupid Waka T_T

Rikku is in Kingdom Hearts 2
Irvine has a ****ING SHOTGUN. KH is a Disney game before it's a Square game

 

And Squall has a gunblade and Xigbar has guns too. Clayton has a rifle in the first Kingdom Hearts. They could have easily Disney-fied Irvine's shotgun.

I would have preferred Irvine over Wakka, but idk how they would have slotted him in to the Destiny Islands setting, if that's where they were going to place him..

 

Clayton had a hunting rifle. Barbossa had a pistol.

 

Guns that were changed in the localized version.

And besides, they're called Gun Arrows. HUGE difference.

This is what I meant by 'Disney-fied'.

 

I remember reading that Rikku was removed from Kingdom Hearts because they didn't want to confuse players with Rikku/Riku. Dunno why they had a change of heart for Kingdom Hearts II, I suppose because players would already be pretty well-set on who Riku was. Plus Rikku didn't have a huge part. also was I the only one who found Yuffie/Squall adorbs

Dunno why they'd cut Irvine, I do agree that it'd be kind of hard to fit him into Destiny Islands, though?

 

Come to think of it, is Kingdom Hearts a Disney license in Japan? Something makes me think it might only be licensed to Disney in overseas versions.

Hell, they were so perfect together that I thought they were from the same game until I actually got old enough to fully appreciate Final Fantasy VII.

 

Well when I first played the games I was like... seven, so I didn't get that they were from another game/series or anything. I just honestly thought they were so koot together *v* (forever shipping fml). When I found out that they were both from Final Fantasy games, I assumed that Final Fantasy was actually a long continuous story and that they got together at some point, hah. I WANTED THAT SHIP TO BE REAL SO BAD.

 

I do have a theory that FFVIII is actually a direct sequel to FFX2/prequel to FFVII. Just saying.

Irvine had better be in Kingdom Hearts III. Just imagine him hitting on all the ladies from other Final Fantasy games and Disney movies :D

And it'd be nice to have someone from VIII besides Squall (and I guess Selphie, but...really?). While VII has...Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, Cid, Aerith, and Sephiroth (of course, some other Final Fantasy games had fewer reps, but...I'm biased towards VIII)

Rinoa > Yuffie

But they do seem kinda cute if you've never played VIII like a loser.

 

I think it would've been pretty cool to have irvine in KH. Maybe we'll get lucky in KH3.
