So I'm reading Katekyo Hitman Reborn

I'm on Volume 2. Does this series even have a plot beyond 'adventures with a mafia baby'?

 

oh you have no idea. I was thinking the same thing, but when you get far enough they finally get somewhere, and afterwards it gets even better. Where they are right now is getting really good. I wish the chapters came out faster than 1 at a time every week. The manga goes farther than the anime, but the anime did have 2 arks that the manga doesn't, so it's always been a thought of mine to watch the show

 

When it finally gets a plot you'll wish it hadn't.

When I say shit taste it has more to do with what you don't like. Liking bad things could mean you like anything and thus have no discretion. But liking bad things and not liking good things is where the taste becomes shit.

 

I am aware of that. You will see what I mean, or would if you read over previous threads involving him and art.

He once straight out said that he would not read a book if he didn't like the cover art.

I thought I was pretty judgmental about art but that's... wow.

 

He also once said that it doesn't matter if the characters suck so long as the story is fun.

Isn't Bleach your guilty pleasure? I remember you saying sometime ago that you still read it.

 

I liked the first two chapters of bleach a lot

 

I was on speaking terms with Bleach all the way up until they had a reason to go to the Soul Society.

Though, I kept following it because I like the art style. As simple as it is, it looks very dramatic and dynamic at times. But honestly, it kind of regressed in my opinion.

 

I mean I read a really large amount of bleach because it was one of the big 3. It impressed me less than naruto story-wise, and I found it pathetic compared to One Piece. It had terrible character development after the original few arcs.

 

I thought it was on par with Naruto storywise. As in both of them were hopelessly generic. One Piece is better, just the art is less... enjoyable. There were no characters after the first few arcs.

 

It is, but far less so now. I loved the first arc and the rest has a few good spots here and there. The most recent part is worthless.

I never tried to defend the characters, though. There is no character development at all. Except with Ulquiorra.

 

1) Bleach is good in my opinion. So if you don't have anything good to say and want to keep on hating on me, do it somewhere else.
2) I'm not the only person in the world that judges manga by their art style. Some styles just aren't good
3) I never said anything about me liking the story even if characters suck. Characters always have flaws, what's that to keep me from liking the story?

And how about we not turn this into a "Make fun of Wingly and his opinions on books"
