I recently remembered that my laptop came with MSN already downloaded and I heard good things about it. So I decided to install it and I even got a hotmail adress for it. But then I found out you have to pay to use it! Not once have I heard about that! I think it's pretty stupid to have to pay for a plan just to im people. Anyone else think that's stupid?

I think I am seriously out of the loop...how come you have to pay for your MSN? Stick with Meebo or something?

I don't know. I typed in my hotmail adress and then it tells me I have to pick a plan. I've already got a Yahoo Messenger account, but most of my friends have MSN and I wanted to check out all the features too.

    Pay?
I don't think anyone on this forum has ever had to pay for MSN.
    Atleast not me.

I have MSN e\Explorer, which was provided by Verizon, my inter net provider. So I get MSN messenger free.

Weird...is this some Vista thing? http://www.ebuddy.com Is a decent online IM. You should probably use that!

P.S. Does it ask you to like pay for something even if you log onto your ebuddy thing? Check, check, check!

I don't have Vista though. I have XP. I'll send a screenshot to show you what I'm talking about.

Go download "Windows Live Messenger." I've never heard of anyone having to pay for MSN.

Alright...it has to be something to do with the new hotmail stuff. Either that, or you have some sort of spin-off of MSN. One that either explodes, or expleeds.

That's to install MSN Explorer. It's just another web browser. It is not to install MSN Messenger.

Really? Oh wow. I didn't know that.

EDIT: Alright, so I went to google to search for msn messenger. I'm downloading Windows Live Messenger right now.

EDIT2: Okay, I'm all set now. It was just a misunderstanding on my part. I thought I had been installing the messenger, when I was really installing the browser. A mod or admin can lock this now.
