When tranquil skies become raging storms
And the bolts of lightning
Make less of a ring
In your ears, your fears
They swallow you with a throat like hell
A well that leads to nothing but the lowest bottom you can find
And with walls so high you lose sight of the dead red sky
And you know you're gonna drown

When you're standing in the valley living
It the way your dreams said you would
But behind you looms the wall, you should
Be afraid of, nothing but a cracked wall of delusion to keep the water back
Oh it splinters and wanes and falls and the river behind
It all comes to a crawl like a gasp of fresh air
Just waiting for the last inch or hair
To make the pressure too high and the wall falls down
And the last thing you see is the dream green sky
And you drown

Nothing but silence left in this sea of deceit
The lies you fed to yourself, oh so bittersweet, gone
I know of a song
It keeps running through my head, of the tunes so strong
And the rhythm and the beat remind me of nothing but defeat
Something about the drip drop of water into your heart
As the rain falls down a voice sings to me
That everything you love is gonna drown
And no it's never going to stop they way I'm living now
I expect to much and put forth too little
I've gotta make it better, stronger, and to quote a song faster
Be my own master
Control my own future
And in an instant I make a new wall of lies
That "I can"
