i was looking on a few other forum sights and saw diffrent smiles that i think would make kh-vids forums look cooler specifically onemanga forums had this one that was :moar: wich was a little mudkip looking all happy and there was a a sayin fail, a flying goku, this pwned one wich was realy funny, a penguin, and a bunch more animated ones but thats just my opinion.:D
I think we a;ready have ;oads of smileys as it is, ane besides, apart from the lolface family, not many people use them much.

We really don't need more, we have a lot as is and we've added quite a lot in the past and I don't know if we can even add more. And as clawtooth said, not a huge variety are used, it's mainly a few.

I would have to agree about that one being removed. I know most people just use :'D to avoid it appearing. I really dislike it as well.
Well...I don't really like it either, but to bypass that all you have to do is put the : in a different font. So :[/*font]D will turn out like :D Minus the asterisk. But yeah, we really don't need more smilies.
How hard is to add or remove those? I think only RvR can do it correct? Because you know... he's the only admin active ;-;
I don't know to be honest, since I've never been an admin on a vB site. On other sites (like ZetaBoards) it's not that hard, but I'm not sure about here. Rep is active btw, he just tends to do Premium name changes and things like that, while RvR does more of the technical things. And yeah spdude is a lost cause.

Yeah, I know what you meant. xD I don't know if it's possible though, since it could be a forum default, and those aren't always removable. If he doesn't see this thread tonight though, I'll ask him about it.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to remove the default smiles, i've seen other forums do it. I think it's as simple as just deleting them off the server. But if we were to remove them we'd have to replace them, despite the fact that not many people use them, there still are people who do. IMO, they're fine as is. If there's one you really want to use just toss it onto photobucket and embedd it as you would any other image.
Actually it's a lot easier you can just tick the "Disable smilies in text" box in the options for every post. Although if you want to use other smilies in that post you'd have a problem there but honestly I don't think it's a big issue and we definitely don't need more smileys and I honestly wouldn't care if we were to remove or add any but if people really want the standard smileys removed i'm pretty sure it can be done.
^ Pretty much this. You don't have to use it if you don't want to. But it's there if others choose to.
wow whats with people not liking :D its one of my favorites and if you were to get rid of the defaults you shoud totaly put in some before mentioned smiles from other sights like :moar: cause i love that smile
Yes, removing smilies from the folder as well as adding new ones would be possible if we had access to the server, which normally that is all on spdude. Sucks, but that's how it is. :/ Maybe in the future we can get some new smilies but for now, we have what we do. Luka's suggestion can help in the meantime for those who want to avoid smilies.
