Add in some generous and kind people, and we have a deal.

Standards should be kept up. It isn't just about being able to talk. You shouldn't let things degenerate into mindless drivel regardless of the variety of personalities involved.

When the majority of threads have no substance and have the same five or so posters in them, there has been a degeneration of quality. Ideally, discussions that include everyone should exist, but in reality, classes of a sort will form simply based on personal standards and who people feel most comfortable around.

People who care about contributing good content will group together, and people who do not will group together. If the people who do not care spam enough, those who do care will get fed up and stop contributing altogether. No artist likes to see their work buried beneath an avalanche of crayon drawings.

Maybe I'm being a little naive in thinking this, but people should know when what they're saying or doing isn't strictly relevant or contributing. Like just having people of varying opinions and abilities shouldn't mean than it all goes to hell in a handbasket. It should actually mean that people learn to be better than they are by seeing people they can admire or appreciate.

I won't deny that stratification is the fact of the day, but I don't think it needs to be what we strive for. I always have to strive for the impossible. A goal that can be achieved isn't worth trying for. So we should be striving for a more integrated and symbiotic system where everyone helps each other even if it can never actually happen.

Again, I feel that people can or should parse for themselves whether something is worth saying and if they can't someone should help them learn to. Then let's also bring up the point that someone who's already good at art will receive a lot less assistance from a bunch of laymen than someone with no ability at all. It's why for a long while I made a point of editing people's work when they needed it that got posted in the writing section, to help them achieve more and get better. When people were already far past me I'd usually just ignore them or add to their reputation because I had no way of helping them. So even if the artist is better, I'd rather see their thread die for lack of criticism than push out others by getting nothing but generic praise.

I'm the same way. It gives me a reputation for always being negative or a harsh critic, but I don't like adding something unless it will improve on the current content.

My problem is that the choice given is between people who build up enough confidence to post whatever they please and claim the right to and people who are so concerned about adding something worthwhile that they do not post at all. Those who post do not care, and those who care do not post. It is the same with intelligence. Intelligent people question themselves while the unintelligent are bolstering with confidence.

There needs to be a balance between confidence and carefulness for healthy activity.

I feel that not caring is worse than being too careful, though.

    Feedback and Assistance.

This is the spam zone, don't expect much to come from discussing it in the Spam Zone. We do want feedback and suggestions if you have convincing ideas, so please discuss them there.

    Understandable.

I mean, you're right, but I wish so very hard that you weren't and that all people had a certain level of restraint and self consciousness. Still, it's not like I have to keep wishing that until doomsday. There must be some way of changing the status quo, of making things better for all involved.

Maybe there does need to be a balance there, but it won't change that not everyone is your ideal person with that balance and it would only create a certain amount of, in my opinion, unwelcome homogeneity if everyone had it. In some ways I like dealing with people who are overconfident and annoying but simultaneously I do dislike them as people and find their manner boorish. It's hard to explain properly with my limited faculties.

Here I will straight up disagree. Be too careful leads you to stagnate and never do anything. I've been careful all my life and I'll have nothing to remember in the future because I have never done anything because it had an unacceptable chance of ending unpleasantly. Not caring can lead to its own problems but we learn from mistakes more readily than empty wishes and regrets. Sorry, for projecting and making this entire argument based on my personal feelings and experience.

That is if we wish to bring it before the staff. In practice, casual discussions of forum policy do not go on there. If we wished to be shot down or told to put it to a vote, that would be prudent, but that is not the goal.

In the end, when a suggestion is made and valid points are brought forth, the stock response will be, "We'll consider it (more than we already have in this thread)." I would rather continue casual discussions here, thanks...

    Pardon me but:

I'm not sure exactly where it says here that you're specifically submitting suggestions for staff approval, it merely states that if one has a suggestion one can discuss it there. Clearly, this discussion would be better facilitated there without all of the extra detritus that spamzone threads inveitably bring.

If you wish to continue discussion here, the do so by all means, but I feel personally that it may be more productive if you were to move there.

Why is this thread 4 pages? Also why was my first post in this thread deleted? KHV is turning into a communist website.

Kh-vids needs to stop being a blog
It's like every 3 seconds there's some thread about someone's mundane highschool life. There should be a section of the forum called "Mundane highschool life" where people talk about mundane highschool life in a mundane fashion.
The problem is that would leave the spam zone with nothing but Dr. who threads. Hate to be vain but the most fun I've had on this forum within the last year was my little girl threads.

kh-drama truly is an era that is long gone now.

Did you forget the time that we were ghosted?

I remember the good old days of the Misters and Yami Floods and The Day of The Ghost and the fucking Neku dictatorship. That shit was fun.

Communists do not have freedom of speech. Deleting posts=/=freedom of speech.

    you're confusing communism with fascism

considering a communist/socialist society is generally run by the mass populous, I should think they have free speech

Communists are not against free speech at all, but they think people should be held accountable for statements made, especially in a public manner.

    same .

That's the difference between practiced communism and ideal communism. Most people refer to the Chinese and Russian practiced communism which was a form of fascism that used communist propaganda to fool people into putting dictators into power.

I say we should have a seperate forum dedicated purely to Doctor Why and any other popular fandoms at the time. Nobody wants to see the a constant spam of something they are not interested in. Throw out all the plebs, so to speak. Then the spam zone can rise back to greatness again.
