Kingdom Hearts Shouldn't Rikunort have had Master Xehanort's keyblade in KH1?

This thought came to me after playing through BBSFM, when Master Xehanort takes control of Terra, he gains his body but keeps his original keyblade. However in KH1 when Xehanort's heartless takes control of Riku he gets a completely new keyblade. Why is this? Shouldn't Rikunort be holding Xehanorts original keyblade or did Xehanort just decide to upgrade his keyblade after the ten-year gap, much like how Mickey upgrades his keyblade from the Star Seeker to Kingdom Key D to mirror Sora's keyblade from the realm of darkness. Could Xehanort's new keyblade also be a mirror version of Sora's keyblade? Or could this be due to Xehanort lossing his memory so he can't use his original keyblade anymore and has to get a new one? Or could this just be a Kingdom Hearts plothole? XD What do you guys think about Rikunort and this keyblade issue?

well, Xehanort couldn't use the keyblade after so many tests while he was working with Ansem, so it's most likely that he couldn't use it even while he was controlling Riku because he couldn't use it before

After Xehanort took Terra over, and Terranort stabbed himself with the Keyblade in Radiant garden against Aqua, he more or less became a different entity altogether (Apprentice Xehanort). Because neither MX or Terra were really in control at that point (Terranort locked both Terra and MX's hearts away), Apprentice Xehanort didn't have access to either Keyblade.

As such, when Apprentice Xehanort became Ansem SoD and Xemnas, he couldn't use the Keyblade then (at least, supposedly for Xemnas), so Rikunort could not have access to it either.

    I just reviewed on Kingdom Hearts WIki that Rikunort's keyblade was made from the 7 princesses of light's hearts inorder to open Hollow Bastion's keyhole so that explains why he used that keyblade instead of his original one, I forgot about the whole princess thing. ^^;

I wonder then what happened to MX's keyblade after Terra locked both his and MX's hearts away, did it disappear completely or could it still be used if someone finds it? And I also wonder, if Terra would have never had sealed their hearts away, could Xehanort have kept his original keyblade and pursued keyblade of the princesses hearts and have gone dual-wield against Sora? Do you think the original Xehanort may be capable of doing something like that when he returns in KH3?

When MX possessed Terra's body, it was MASTER XEHANORT in control. When he possessed Riku, he was a HEARTLESS which can't wield a Keyblade. Though he had an artificial Keyblade which is fake and doesn't require a heart to wield it. Though I guess Riku's heart would suffice, but MX's heartless probably couldn't even conjure one up (if he remembered he had a Keyblade)

Well if memory serves me right, (which it doesn't often...) but when you fight Terranort as Aqua after the dark flames surround you two, he starts to use the heartless. I think the heartless behind him (same as the one behind Ansem the heartless) is MX's Keyblade. Because i think once in a while, he would "release" the keyblade and the heartless would appear.

When Terranort locks his heart with the keyblade, the heartless dissolves with the keyblade. (i hope that is all right...) So i'm pretty sure that the Heartless behind Ansem the heartless is MX's keyblade.

Most likely it would still be Terranort, since Xehanort the apprentice wouldn't have amnesia. So i think that if Terranort won the battle and didn't lock his heart away, he would continue to pursue his (MX) plans of unlocking Kingdom Hearts, the X-Blade, and the secrets of the keyblade war. So if that happened, it would have happened WAY before Sora came of age, and therefore, Sora wouldn't be able to stop him.

As for dual wielding, no. When a person's heartless then their Nobody has been vanquished, then the whole will appear. I personally think that BOTH Terra and Xehanort will return to their original states, so then MX wouldn't be able to dual wield.

Or it could just be he can't use his Heartless Powers and the Keyblade at the same time?
So he has to switch between use.
I mean, if you think about it. The Heartless fear the Keyblade etc. So it would make sense for it not to work together.
Other evidence for this could also be Sora and his Anti Form.
His Anti Form is that of a Heartless (it's been confirmed in terms of links to the time he became a Heartless anyway.)
Since he can't use his Keyblade when he is in the Anti Form (Heartless) state (without awesome hacks XD). That could be further proof the MX had a similar issue and had to switch between Heartless and Keyblade Powers.
At least that is my answer to what you suggested.

As for the Rikunort Keyblade thing. Yeah, it's pretty much the fact he needed the Princess's and whatnot. So you already know that, so I shan't repeat it. lol

I personally don't think there is a canon answer. Honestly, they hadn't thought that far ahead yet, so of course he wouldn't be wielding a Keyblade that hadn't been thought of yet.

That's my theory too. I think that Xemnas was Terra's body (and heart, somewhat like Roxas) and the Heartless was Xehanort. In the same vein, the Mysterious Figure from BBS was Xehanort's Nobody who went back in time AFTER his heartless had been killed. Thus, it's not out of the question that both Terra and Xehanort will be restored. The only missing piece is Terra's Heartless, though it could be like Namine where there is no Heartless.

As much as that sounds pretty good, i just have a hard time thinking that is the truth...

After all, Terranort was a mixure of Terra and Xehanort, kinda like a chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream. (i know, terrible analogy.) So technically, Terranort is a new entity made up of two souls, however MX was dominate. so the Heartless Ansem, and the Nobody Xemnas, are technically BOTH Xehanort and Terra's heartless and Nobody. (MX was more apparent in the heartless, and Terra more in the Nobody.)

So since both the heartless and Nobody of both of MX and Terra are vanquished, they theoretically should both return to their original states.

This is kinda like Sora, Ventus, and Roxas. Roxas IS Sora's Nobody, but since there where two souls in Sora, Roxas is a splitting image of Ven. Oh and i just realized! That's probably why Roxas doesn't remember his past life... because he had two. (Sora and Ventus)

As for the MF, I honestly am stumped on that guy. My best advice is to sit back and wait because we just can't figure anything out about that guy. We know enough that we may be able to point him out in the future games... but Nomura just gave us enough that we COULDN'T figure him out. Hence the name: Mysterious Figure... go figure!

I agree with this except I'm sure Terra would have a heartless due to the amount of darkness in his heart- Namine had none as Kairi was a princess of heart so therefore there was no darkness in her heart to create a heartless.

The theory of travelling back in time has always sprung to my mind with the Mysterious figure but I don't think we can say for definate who he is.

Anyway, the keyblade was created specifically for opening Kingdom hearts, this has already been answered I know but I agree with everyone else who said he forgot that he had a Keyblade or he forgot how to use it when he became the apprentice.

Since I didn't bother reading the other replies, I may say some stuff already said.
I'm guessing that when Riku was taken over, the Keyblade that was forged was simply a representation of Riku's own power. With Riku being a Keyblade wielder because of Terra, it's not impossible that just because he is controlled by Terranort, he doesn't use his own Keyblade.
It may also be that he lost his memory, thus forgetting of his original Keyblade. He did indeed forget about his own true power to wield the Keyblade of course, so can't do it naturally.

No because heartless can't use the very weapon that destrys them
