Probably. It could also be the way we've been treating other people. I mean. It's not too hard to say "please refrain from posting such things as this in the future".

It has a sense of power but also has a nicer tone then "ZOMG UR A NOOBZ! GET OFF MAH INTARWEBZ1 DX"

It's one thing to use such a thing as a joke, it's another when you're spouting off to a newer member who doesn't realize it's a joke.

I'm not saying that anyone does that, I just needed an example.

and yes thats exactly what i mean. thats why they even write threads like i hate this site and ****, becuase of how the members treated that member...

and the saddest part like you stated is they do it to new members too. i mean c'mon. and people of younger age. >_> THAT IS PHAIL. pick on someone your age. I mean c'mon 9_9

Don't hate me, but I think you all should be a little more considerate on what you post concerning those kinds of things. It's probably the closest thing to flaming that I've seen.

While Foxie's example was specific, it makes a very good point.

Back on the old forums with the LULZ layout and when the idea of Forum Helper was still a concept, it was still a pretty new environment. It was okay to have all the ******bags hanging around because we had all just joined and we were willing to overlook them and just tell ourselves silently that things would get better and that those kinds of things would die off.

I will admit that I was far more civil and polite (almost too polite) back then when dealing with the incredulous ******ry that STILL lingers on the forum today. I was more tolerant of things back in the day, I guess you could say.

But dude, it's been years and the ******ry is still here. So to be frank, I just gave up on forum diplomacy. Tell things how they are, folks.

Eh... Everyone is correct in a sense. There isn't a real answer nor is there a wrong answer.

- Our tolerance level has lowered
- New members are being immature
- Staff being too uptight
- We're getting snippy
- etc. etc.

All of them are valid in their own way...

I just have to think the ol' days were SO MUCH better. The forum has gotten so much more boring. I almost left, though in the end I stayed etc for several reasons.
And I can't say the forum is as fun as it used to be, no way.

There are two types of 'cool' on the Internet
Number One, Not So Intelligent- Mainly this Is In chat rooms, but I have seen It on Forums. People try and act all 'gangsta' and spell liek dis, they would also start fights just because the other person Is different

Number Two, Intelligent- I shouldn't really be staying Intelligent, but Its true. People act like I pointed above, except more mature

Y'know what? **** cool, I don't care If they want to be popular, I don't care If they want to talk about rude stuff and whatever, that shouldn't put other kind people down. Whoever Is acting 'cool' on this site, trying to get some laughs by hurting others, get a life, seriously. Its the Internet, Its not like anyone Is going to kill you just because your not nasty. I mean seriously, I'm a 12 year old and I know better. Yes I get some laughs and I'm quite well known around here, but I got to that place because, not for being an ahole, but for being myself. Who really gives a **** If your different? Who really gives a **** If you not 'cool', because I sure don't.

but yeah... i havent been a member long enough to know what this site has been through but it does seem like people are getting rude and stuff and it isnt fair on the new members... no wonder people are always leaving... theres no need to be evil and stuff cause no one except your friends that you actually know outside of the site know you personally... its pointless being someone your not...
