School Grade Level

I'm just curios..I wanna see how many people here go to school... :D

 

After Summer I'll be in 8th Grade.

 

After summer, I'll be going into 10th grade.

 

i am in fifth year (UK system), and hope to go into lower sixth next year if my grades in my GCSEs are high enough.

 

I just became a 8th grader so watch out , I will go Collage early and get a job at Square Enix.

Wow, I'm so excited! There are a lot of people here around my age <.< >.>. Other forums I've been to, there was nobody close.

 

I'm in 8th grade for one more week...then summer comes...then comes 9th grade...Oh crap....O.O;

Yeah....I'll be sixteen in January..tenth grader...

 

wow,alot of people here are pre-8th graders.I wonder why I'm probably the only 12 year old.

 

someone please explain the american school system to me and compare it with the UK system. and the Nothern Irish system because our year 8 is first year not second.

 

In the american system, we have different stages of school years (called grades)

we start in the FIRST garde when we're seven or eight and every school year is about a hundred and something days, after that hundred something days we get a two month break, and when we come BACK from that berak we are in the second grade. This continues until sixth grade when we gradute from elementary school and into middle school (usually around the age of eleven or twelve), and THAT continues until ninth grade (which is highschool-usually about fourteen or fifteen) and then we go to tenth, eleventh, and twelth gardes and then we graduate and go to college

 

I'm in my second year of college. Soon I'll be programming some games at some company.

That's not how it works where I live.

 

well we have nursery school and maybe preschool as well (it depends when you were born etc)

school basically starts in primary school which runs from Primary 1 (P1 4-5 years old) and finish with Primary 7 (P7 11-12 years old).

then you go to high school which can be a grammer, secondary, comphrehesive, city college thing etc (theres loads) which runs from first form (year 8 in NI) to fifth form (yaer 12 in NI 16 years old). you can then leave school at the end of year 12 or continue with your studies into lower sixth form (year 13 in NI) and then upper sixth form (year 14 in NI). then you can go on to university/college.

it looks so hard to compare them ><
