When was the last time you saw Xaldin, Orange, and Hissora online? When was the last time they did anything at all? As far as I'm concerned, they were well due for the pink slip.

I can certainly vouch for Xal being a cool person, since he's become a chat regular on KHI's IRC channel so I talk to him often; and he was indeed a central figure for this site as far back as most people remember.

But as it stands now, those days are over. He has moved on, doesn't do anything on the site nowadays, has stopped caring about this place, as TMM has previously mentioned. Regardless of what he meant to this site at one point, he does not need to be on staff any more.

I don't know Hissora and Orange well enough to judge their characters, but guess what? I don't need really need to.

It doesn't matter shit if a person's great and qualified if they don't do what they're supposed to.

If you're not coming to your shift at work, your boss is going to fire you, even if you do have a legitimate reason for not being able to do your job; he might understand, but he has a business to run and you're taking up space needlessly. I don't see what's so novel to you about this simple principle.

Also, on the topic of the "dictatorship":

Uh, last I checked, admins are supposed to be, you know, in charge of the site. They're supposed to make the big decisions.

It doesn't mean the other staff member's opinions don't and shouldn't matter in the process of making important decisions; that's why you try to create a general consensus by discussing the idea amongst the staff, which often happens, but it's not really possible that every staff member will agree with every big decision (like staff choices) ever made.

That's why you're supposed to make the admins the people you can trust the most: because regardless of everything else, they're the ones who have the most power and will be running the site.

It seems that all the people bitching about CtR "taking charge", "becoming a dictator", and all this other nonsense, have forgotten that all the staff works UNDER her, Comdemned Memoir and spdude (well not him really lol); their decisions, even if you disagree with them, are final. You're complaining about her trying to do her job and making the site better, in essentials, which is ******ed as allhell.

As Darkwatch said, this whole "democracy" you guys have going on obviously doesn't work if it's resulted in all this mess.

At the end of the day, she's not perfect, but I think we should have faith in CtR's (and Comdemned Memoir's) ability to take charge and make these kind of choices.

 

If it's any consolation, I really am not on a power trip, but lets face it, someone had to ****ing doing something or else this place would keep on failing and falling apart. That being said, I am fully aware of exactly who is saying what about me ;D end of the day I really don't give a ****. If I wanted to be loved by everyone I wouldn't be staff. I'd be some chick handing out cookies and cuddles whilst being totally kawaaaaaaaaaii desu desu.

As for the staff changes, I am not going to comment on those removed because I really do not need to justify it. They were removed for not doing their job, simple as. What I find most amusing is that when you yourself were staff you often encouraged we removed staff. Maybe you have forgotten, but we haven't.

The staff who have been promoted SO FAR, (note the use of so far) were added because they fit what we are looking for (that being people to get into the RP section). May I remind you that nobody really knew Wolfie or Cocohints before they were staff either. Added to this is the fact that you are hardly an active member anymore. Maybe if you paid more attention to the site once in a while (as opposed to your random visits to ***** and complain) you would know more of the members.

I'd lock this, but no doubt you will be back in another couple of weeks to make another thread complaining about how things have changed too much.

Things change, people come and go, and everything moves on, such is life, such is the internet, such is everything. Holding on to the past won't change the future. What is done is done and can't be undone, no matter how much people get butthurt over it.

I stand by the decisions I have made.
