Return of Kira: Part Three-Confused Souls

The shock of seeing Near standing right beside her when she'd been expecting him to be in his room made Theory squeak slightly as she jumped backwards "We have no idea..." Theory sighed once she'd stablized herself.

"All we know is it was some time last night." Lidner butted in. "And that, judging from the carnage it was two people, most likely male."

 

"Is that all you got?"

 

"At the moment, yes. We're currently searching her room for futher evidence."

 

"That's not good enough..."

 

"It's all we can do right now. Without infomation on what happened we have no way of proceeding. And the only way we can find more infomation is by searching through her stuff. That and checking the CCTV on the floors around her. Which is what I was just about to go do after telling Theory." Lidner explained calmly, sensing there was something odd in Near's tone.

 

"As soon as you find out anything report to me."

 

"Of course we will." Lidner nodded before heading off.

"Near...?" Theory asked cautiously, about to ask a question she'd been pondering since the news was reported to her.

 

"What is it?"

 

"If it turns out she's been taken by someone not Kira connected... What would you put first? Finding her, or catching Kira?"

 

"I want to find her as soon as possible... But the Kira case won't be put on hold anymore. Just that she's my first propity."

 

Theory nodded, still unsure of what the actual response was.

 

"Why did you ask?"

 

"It's just... The Kira case is getting worse by the second. Matt has started commiting organized massacres of people, seemingly alphabetical. Blondie is more then certainly with him, I just don't have the proof right now. And First Friday has disappeared from the face of the planet it seems. So diverting too much manpower from the Kira case would prob'ley prove the downfall of the SPK... However I know how much she means to you, and I know you know the danger that kidnapping presents the kidnapee. So... You can see where my concern lies..."

 

"Killing people by their names... That's awful. It's possible to work on two cases you know... And seeing how First Friday is making moves we should focus on Matt but I just can't forget about Lana."

 

"I know you can't just forget her... But for the greater good maybe you should leave her temporalily. Just to catch one Kira." Theory suggested, certain that the response would not be a good one.

 

"You can deal with Kira. If she stays where ever the hell she is who knows what'll happen to her."

 

"What me?! Deal with Kira?! You're having a laugh mate!" Theory said, addamant that there was no way she could handle the case. "There's a reason L thought I was a ******: I am one!"

 

"I didn't mean it seriously."

 

"Thank god..." Theory sighed in relief. "Seriously, I'd get everyone killed with a week."

 

"Not like I'm doing any better."
