Return of Kira: Part Three-Confused Souls

"I just can't imagine thinking that killing is a good course of action... I don't even think that the death penalty for murderers is a good idea... The idea of taking anothers life just completly passes me over..." Theory mumbled. "Sorry, listen to me babbling on and on." She giggled quietly. "I should get on with my work..."

 

"It's okay. I'll have to agree with you."

 

"Yeah... Sorry for wasting your time. I better get going." Theory mumbled before running off.

 

He watched her run off and sighed, he was alone once again.

"Hey Near, long time no speak." Lidner said as she dropped into a nearby seat. Crossing her legs and resting her arms on the chair's arms in the confident manner that many a strong woman adopted. After some of Near's comments during the last Kira case she found herself acting in such a manner around him to prove to him that woman were not weaker then men or some such thing that she'd never truely given any though to previously. It seemed a subconcious move. "What with spending all your time with 'L' and all."

"Is there something you want?"

 

"Not really." She replied. "Just thought you looked lonely and I have no one else to speak to. If nothing else it's rather entertaining to watch you grown up." Lidner replied with what could almost be a smile given by a sister to her younger brother. But of course it was Lidner, so the chances of it being that kind of intention was very small. "It may be none of my business, but just how much have you grown up? Would you say you were an 'Adult' yet?" She probed, the meaning beheind the question painfully obvious to just about anyone.

The reasons behind Lidner's question was nothing greater then a lack of anything interesting to do, Theory liked to do all the small jobs such as tracking and programming and hacking meanwhile L, aka Lana, was the one who handled the field missions as and when they appeared. Luna had, and always would be so long as situations permitted, a primarily field agent. She was one of the small number that could not only think on their feet, but think well on their feet. Lidner however was normally called in when things either got out of hand, or there was a lack of anyone else to do it. Mainly because she was seen as a senior SPK agent because of her postion on the last case, but also because no one wanted to work with her because of her potential to be such a cold hearted witch and to ask innapropriate questions. Like she'd just asked Near. That was just the tip of the iceberg of the questions she could of asked, but it seemed like the most entertaining at that point in time.

"It depends on how you are implying that question."

 

"I think you know how I'm implying the question." Lidner smiled innocently

 

"Well I don't have to answer it."

 

"So that is either a very deffinate yes, but you're too ashamed to admit it. Or a very strong no. And for the life of me I can't decide which answer would be better for someone watching someone in your postion." She smirked.

 

"Having fun?"

 

"Maybe." She grinned. "But more to the point, are you 'having fun'?"

 

"I can't answer that question without you twisting it, can I?"

 

"Nope, not really." Lidner smiled innocently. "Don't mind me though." She said walking past and ruffling his hair in a slightly condesending manner. "I'm just playing with ya."

 

"Well then..." He said and started to fix his hair

 

"It's just cute seeing you all grown up." She laughed softly. "Just don't get yourself and Luna into a awkward situation that may become a central role in your futures. If nothing else, as much as I hate to say this, it'd be a b*tch to lose her on this case."

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"Don't knock her up until after the case is over." Lidner said bluntly.

 

"Okay... I wasn't planning on doing so..."
