I'm thinking a monster counts as the T-rex, Those plant monsters, maybe GFs, and all the other stuff. And I'm betting you Squall was saved because Seifer has a grudge against him, he's a student who's looked up to, he's the voted captain of everyone in the game, and all of that other stuff. Besides, let's not forget that Ultimacia sent 3, I say 3, of those spikes at everyone. Squall is the only person that ended up getting hit. And when you think about it, Selphie or whoever thought that the lion thing was a monster as well, and it technically is. People just assume that anything not human is a monster

Aqua, your argument against Spoony is basically "I like the game and it's just a game so all his points suck". All arguments in any game review are about the game, so don't say "Stop arguing about the game in your review ABOUT THE GAME". That's why we have reviews of games.

Otherwise, what I have to say's been said. Look past the fact that it's Final Fantasy, and look at it as a standalone game.

    That makes no sense
Well that just adds even MORE ambiguioty to the whole "what is a moneter" thing.

Look, the point is; Final Fantasy VIII failed to explain simple things that have no reason to be left ambiguous. There's no reason why they don't tell us why Squall is still alive (unless he's dead).

umm, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying his points are invalid because I can't find anything that actually makes any sense in it. The game is good, and the aspects are fine. Why do you junction magic? Because apparently in that world they can allow magic to be junctioned. He's reviewing things that don't make sense. It's like saying "Why is there a place called Kingdom Hearts in the game Kingdom Hearts?"

I'm just telling everyone that I understand the game, and it's not because of the fact that it's a game. I myself do look at points in games when I play, but I don't see anything wrong with FFVIII. Makes perfect sense when I look at it, and it might just be because I can actually take it for what it is, and believe it because that's the way it works in the game's world, and it's not in this world, so why not accept it? I accept it because I've 1)grown up with it 2)Have never really found any holes, because I'm willing to accept things that happen and 3)because I say I accept it. SO SHUT IT ALREADY ABOUT FFVIII!!!!

But Kingdom Hearts being called Kingdom Hearts has nothing to do with the actual gameplay.
You can't excuse a poor system just because "well they can do it in the game, that's why it's there"
That's like if in Final Fantasy XIII, a meteor would fall and kill your teamates every 10 minutes because Cocoon was prone to meteor strikes. Sure it had to do with the game but that doesn't stop it from being ****ing annoying.

but it's exactly because it's there that you can do it. You can't relate a video game to real life. You just have to take it as it is
Scratch that. You can't relate a Fantasy game to real life.

Quick, someone argue about my favorite video game, Fallout 3, so we can have an aggressive debate.

I'm well aware that it's there
But the question is WHY is it there? WHY does the draw system exist? WHO on the development team thought it was a good idea and WHAT was thier thought process.
Video games are created by REAL people in the REAL world for REAL people.
If there is something in the game that is tedious for a REAL person to do (ie drawing the same magic 99 times from every new enemy you encounter or searching the world map for INVISIBLE draw points) then the game has failed at doing it's job, entertaining the REAL person.

Fallout 3 is only an RPG in name
It's also a poor excuse for a sequel to Fallout 2.

Don't argue with Aqua, he's not going to change his opinion so it doesn't even matter.

Not trying to change his or anyone's opinion
Just making sure he notices the flaws in his arguement.

Fallout 3 wasn't as fun as sheep riding.

I agree, it isn't a true Fallout game, but it's still a high quality title.
I couldn't agree more. Hi I'm Bethesda, and we decided that in the future, every old man will look and sound EXACTLY the same.

They said they were getting a lot more voice actors (like 100 or more I think?) so hopefully they give the next Fallout the same treatment.

In this thread, Poe's Law applies.

    Mostly.

Objectively, Jube is right, and if the game does not satisfy the majority of the people who played it, then it is not a very good game. It could have been done better. If you could change one aspect of the game to make it more enjoyable, and you did not, then that aspect becomes a flaw in your design. There is not much denying that.

Yeah. But give me a Fallout game on the Skyrim engine and I'll be happy if they have 1 voice actor.
