Sony just barely updated the PSP but designer Tai Chiem is already thinking about the next iteration. His design calls for a flexible OLED display that can be conveniently rolled. An electric charge powering the display stiffens it while providing near bezeless prime real estate for gaming. Stereo speakers on either side double as a jog wheel and camera control. He also envisages Sony finally implementing two joysticks. Pipe dream or not, it’s sexy and lives up to its name; it don’t get any more portable than this.

    Designer: Tai Chiem

It's only concept design, they'll add that later.

There is less then 1% that the PSP2 will look even remotely like these concepts...

I see they've thought about originality and compactness but the next stage of gameplay handling will decide the big changes to these designs.

    thanks for posting them btw.

well you didn't really make that clear D=

If they did turn out like that they'd not be very popular

I agree...I dont like it either.....but if you can move the screen like that, how is it gonna stay horizontally if you play a game?????

NVM i already see it...I guess

I thought everybody knew that. =P

And it still could've been popular, worse ideas have been eaten whole before.

I think it's a VERY unique design but i wouldn't think it would be reliable. Aye, i understand it is a concept design but even if they made somethin' like that i would worry it would die on me.

I kinda like the design but can see it's problems (kinda seeing it in a designers point of view) it's only at the thinking stage so it's obviously going to be better

the down side is that how much would it cost to make such a thing once they add the game play side to it and how much would it cost us from that?

That explains why Sony patented the idea for flexible discs. They're incorporating it into the deign of the second PSP2. I read it in one issue of Game Informer. I'll try to find it later.

Exactly.I don't like it at all.Besides, how are you gonna play with the damn thing.Hold it from the bottom. What about the L and R buttons.Work your freaking arse off and turn the thing aroung. The thing looks like a roll up dart board like one I have in my room.Good plan.Bad ways to use it.

I Like it no matter what you guys say.Obviously they'll figure out a way to allow it to stay horizontal. It's innovative and new. It's a good design that needs a bit of inprovement.Guaranteed that Microsoft will try and rip it off because they haven't had a good idea since Halo.

Well said fayt my friend but Windows can't even be quailified as completely there idea either. The Icon idea came from Linux but they bought it off of Linux so Microsoft just take idea's and pass them off as there own.Sony has had moments like that, i admit that but not on such a large scale.
