I've noticed that recently there have been alot of games that are being made into HD remakes, such as DMC, sly cooper, jack and daxter, and Final Fantasy 10... any thoughts? and if they did do you think they would be the final mix versions with the extra bosses or just the regular versions.
That would be nice to see a HD edition. I'd hope for it to be a final mix because I haven't played those. Lol
I thought Nomura already said something about this for the 10th ana for KH. Anyway, yes I do hope the Final Mix content is in the HD versions or its not worth Japanese gamers time.
I don't doubt that some day we'll get a HD remake, but I don't think we'll get the final mix stuff. As much as I would love to have it, I just can't see it happening
I'm not certain of the extent of the KH fanbase (though it seems pretty large), but if it's big enough, there will be a remake. I'd love it, myself.
That would be a dream come true, but if that ever does happen, I'm pretty sure Japan will get something else better..
The Kingdom Hearts series are my favorite games. i would love to see it happen, hence why i asked the question. but i personally think that they have sold enough copies and created a wide enough fanbase to release a remade/remastered version of the game. Like come on Kingdom Hearts has made Disney and Square a boat load of money
i agree... i would love to play it on ps3 cuz i lost my ps2 memory card =( and it had KH KH2 KH2FM and COM... and many other games so i am quite sad about that... and im not gonna go try and find the old ps3 fat that can play them haha.... but i know a full remake would take a while but what about it being remastered? if they work on it it wouldnt take that long would it?
It would be nice to have HD remakes of the games (Final Mix versions please!). I can then introduce some family members to the KH series that way.
I do remember Nomura mentioning HD tests or something in regards to the ten year anniversary of KH, couldn't find the article though. It wasn't anything definite, I don't think, but at least there is interest at Square for it! I could definitely see them doing so, I think a simple remaster would be adequate; as a fan, a complete overhaul would be lovely, but I'd be happy to just be able to play it on my PS3 with an HD output. I don't think Kingdom Hearts is really suited to the realistic graphics of, say, FFXIII. I'd buy it, haha.
I think if they ever do it it will be when KH3 is about to be released. If KH3 is on the PS3 it would make sense to release a KH1-2-BBS FM remaster with bonus 358/2 Days and Re-Coded summaries. It would allow veterans to refresh their memory and/or fill in the gaps they missed, and it would spare more than a few WTF moments to newcomers. Let' s face it, more than 10 years after the original was released (hell, more than 15 years if they keep this pace) it wouldn' t be a luxury. Of course they could keep it Japan exclusive and give US and/or Europe the usual middle finger. They could also release a BBS2 on the Vita, KH3 on the Wii U, and an Xbox 720 remaster compilation or no compilation at all, just to keep their tradition of making it as ridiculously difficult and pricey as they possibly can to keep following the saga. I can see it going both ways honestly, though lately SE decisions and fans wishes seem to mesh as much as water and oil.

A remaster would be adequate. I'd like to see them go into more depth with the character designs though, so I would prefer a HD remake. Also, if they do a remake, it's a bigger chance they would add things to the games. (For example KHIII hints or similar)
I believe this is a possibility. And I think that Final Mix versions have a best image and are really great. Too bad I don't have them... But they are on my list too!!!
