    Halloween also saw the limited release of Ninetales and Mismagius as a support duo, using Will-O-Wisp and Ominous Wind respectively.

    Hope so. Out of the 3 Hoenn starters, Blaziken and Swampert (Mega Swampert ftw!) make more sense to me to add than Sceptile (not that there's anything wrong with adding Sceptile).

    Last week, the game's Japanese Twitter account teased that a new fighter would be announced on the fifteenth--and that fighter has "ra" in its Japanese name. And today, CoroCoro has leaked and revealed THREE new fighters: Please welcome Garchomp, Braixen, and regular Mewtwo!

    ...But you know what? None of those three fighters has "ra" in their Japanese name~

    Keep your eyes peeled on the fifteenth!

    Its official trailer will debut on the 31st.

    Two new support pairs have also been announced: Croagunk and Syleon, and Pachirisu and Magikarp.

    The game will launch for the Wii U on March 18 in both North America AND Europe.

    The Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament is confirmed to be compatible with all existing amiibo! They will be used to unlock in-game items, but details beyond that have yet to be revealed.

    Of all the characters in this, the one I find most interesting is definitely Chandelure. I mean, just looking at it, one could never imagine something so inanimate-looking fighting up-close with any real ability. And yet they manage to make it look very natural.
    It's still a very weird fighter visually, but the important thing in my eyes is that it really widens up the future roster possibilities, since we're now aware that seemingly any Pokémon could appear (presumably as long as it isn't something like Seaking, which we would assume would be restricted to the water).

    For a series like Pokémon that has so many varied designs, many of which wouldn't exactly be a first thought when thinking about a fighting game, I think that's brilliant. Here's hoping that future updates add even more unexpected and awesome Pokémon as playable.

    Also, three new support pairs have been revealed: Espeon and Umbreon, Diglett and Cubone, and Magneton and Quagsire.

    EDIT: NintendoLife has the game, and has found two more support duos: Yveltal and Latios, and Reshiram and Cresselia. Unfortunately, no new playable Pokémon have been found.

    The WiiU version of the game has been distributed early to several Youtubers, who have been allowed to show ten minutes of gameplay before its official release.

    Darkrai will be hitting the arcade game next week (alongside Garchomp, Braixen, and Shadow Mewtwo, hence their inclusion in the trailer), with no current news on the Wii U version.

    Scizor is one of those Pokémon that always seemed a perfect fit for Pokkén. Darkrai came out of left field; I don't think anyone was expecting a second playable legendary, let alone a mythical, whereas I feel like Scizor has been a long time coming. Its burst attack looks fantastic, and I'm just really happy to see one of the more popular competitive Pokémon that kind of fell out of use at Worlds get another lease at life in this game.
