Poetry Contests.

I simple boy, poor yet humble.
He walked slowly and usualy would stumble.
Every day was the same, not a single change.
He was beat up by bullies before school because they wanted his change.
Every day came with with black eyes and bruises.
He couldn't avoid the fight that he always loses.
One day while walking to school.
The bullies attacked and were extremely cruel.
They ripped his shirt.
And threw him in the dirt.
And when he get to his feet.
Again he would be beat.
And then a large man came to lend the boy a hand.
This was something that he had not planned.
The man scared the boys off and told them not to return.
For if they did it would be thier turn.
And as quickly as he came the man was no where to be found.
Even though the boy looked all around.
If that man didn't appear things would have been tragic
The boy smiled and said to himself, "Just like magic"

 

The Child

Innocence shines within their being
Clouds become living things
Frogs turn into fine princes
Everyone is great in their sight
The eyes of a child

The simple wish, the simple prayer
And soon they are in their little world
Everything is wonderful, all is grand
A light that glows inside their heart
The soul of a child

One touch, one hope, changes others
People’s lives have turned
All because of sometimes one small being
They help others know that all is possible
The magic of a child

Even though the Day may seem Dark, and Grey
There shall always be a Light to Shine threw the Day
No matter how little the Light may seem
It shall always be Magic between you and me

Magick Drops

Shredding the skin of the marred human soul
Betwixt such a disgrace a modern hand laced
With dust from the blackened heart smothered in coal
A watcher through windows here to there paced
The unseen eyes lucidly upon the bank
Griddled with evil and sustenance greed
Why doth the counterpart lower it’s tank
To partake of magick drops when in dire need
A flurry of timeless tales woven by might
Each sprinkled with honour and tales of amour
The watcher doth grin and revel at the sight
Benevolence coming through heart’s open door
Why doth my memories choke at the sound
Of mystical beings with jubilant pride
Hath I buried the magickal essence profound
To scar this distraught soul taken to my side
Unleash the fair card upon a cold nightly wind
Let the breath of a magician fill empty cup
So my spirit can tingle with rigidity bend
And take this dampened emotion, lifting me up
Magick is a splendour, magic is life
Magick is the extinguisher of heartache and strife
Magick is the broom that sweeps all cares away
Magick is the sun that kisses a warm day
Magick is wonder, magick is supreme
Magick is this man’s sought-after dream
When magick is lifted into the lantern of soul
It is the fuel that aids in reaching that goal
When griddled with evil and sustenance greed
Only partake of your magic drops
And fulfill every need

Poetry Contest: December 2008.

Yes I know, bad naughty Catch the Rain missed the results deadline, its called writing 6000 word long essays for Uni D: srsly I cannot wait until I graduate x_x

Anyways my loves, winner of November is the member formerly known as Cupcake. The judges decideded that there was something of a raw passion about her work that really appealed. It was well written and gave an interesting perspective on the idea of magic. Congratulations hun.

Special mention also goes to Friendly_Heartless. This piece was a very close second <3 well done.

Ok, so given that Christmas is coming and everyone is going to be very busy with exams, assignments and general Christmas ****, this months has no rules except the subject.

I would like you to write a poem about peace. What does peace mean to you? I would like to know. Death can be peaceful but so can quiet evenings in late summer.

So,

Theme for December: Peace

Deadline: Since I am late starting this I will accept entries up to January 1st.
Results: WILL be up on January 3rd.

What is peace?
Is piece the sea?
Or maybe the sky.
At home?
Or outside.
Is it in life?
Or maybe perhaps death?
But they are all fairly eased off but not quite peaceful.
Sea, sky, home, outside, life, death.
In between them you find peace.
I am at peace, it is good here but I know my soul is here.
My body is fighting for life, I can see it in pain.
I open my eyes.
"Mummy?..."
"shhhhhh it was just a dream"

Hmm.. here goes. I basically built this around the last two lines xD The rest is just something I threw together right now xD






Peace.
We fight for it, but why?
It's eternal bliss, its hope, love.
It's dreamless sleep, it's the sea, the smooth wings of a dove.
We find it sometimes, a moment, quiet and care,
Lying on sandy beaches- the smell of sea in your hair.
A warm place you can just sit and stare,
A young girl again, free with no care.

But for most there is none,
Life's a whirlwind with no rest.
You're thrown about and kicked and punched
Abandoned by ol' grim to face the test
Of life.
Most never find it.
Life throws you around.
Until at last we come to rest
At peace below the ground.

The Lighted One

Deep within a foreign land
Where all is calm, all is still
Sanctuary, from the hollowing storm from outside
Open your eyes, behold the tranquil world before you

Look through the glass window
Agony, pain, darkness spreads like plagues
Into those poor souls, wandering on the barren earth
Some left to die, others, holding to a thread of hope

Reach towards the door, fly to them
Raise them up, give a reason to live
Touch a hand to their heart, spread light throughout the soul
Curing them of this disease

One ray of sun through world of tainted shadows,
Brightens the spirit who sees
One able to show grace,
Eventually brings the peace from within to all

Lost and Found

I'm losing hope. slowly, slowly....it seeps
out of me like the blood
of my wrist.

i was lost.

i don't cut, but my
body bleeds, i don't
drink but my head spins.

all i want to do is
love, just love. that seems
almost impossible at this point.

then i met you, oh how i was
found, and i found
something to love.
and now i have a
reason to live.


but.....just ignore....it if it be too late.

 

Peaceful Memories

Memories are sometimes forgotten
But some will never be forgotten
Peaceful memories will never be forgotten

Remembering the joy
forgetting the sorrow
leaving the pain below
taking the happiness above

No one is ever alone
with peace at you arsenal
No one forgets the loved
Never entirely will the loved slip away

Memories are close
and sometimes dear to you
One thing that all know
Is that peaceful memories

Forgiving Our Peace *Original*

We are never mistaken by the words, fallen into them with simple touches.
I see this now, forsaken by the light.
Peace, a ruse to our kind.
Peace, a light to guide our way.
Nothing, is not that you search for it, you see nothing, you seek it, for as peace is there.

We hold, we bind our cages into the light of peace.
We bathe our pools of ideas and hopes into peace.
We seek our deals in peace, only to forgive our time we want to repent with.
Searching, bathing, holding it...a mindless ruse for all weeping children who search only for a peace that we can give.

Think of nothing but the peace, think of nothing but the echo of our hearts.
There is a pain we all see in peace, we all know.
We searched for peace, we had it.
We bathed in peace, in pools of blood.
We held peace, in our cold and dying hands.

There is nothing but fear in our world.
Peace, left.
Peace, gone.
Peace, begotten by out simple ideas and dreams.
There is no peace, no simple peace to where it is agreeable, only to be taken away from.

We searched, we bathed, we held it in our grasp.
We, begotten it to our mind.​

Mine is a bit opposite. It's about how we have no peace in this world and only anarchy. I made it up in a few minutes.

In our own little world,
We cannot see peace.
Therefor we are blind.
In this place we call home,
We cannot hear peace.
Therefor we are deaf.
Where we live and we stand,
We cannot speak of peace.
Therefor we are mute.
The senses of peace.
We cannot grasp them.
Peace is beyond our understanding.
All that remains,
Is war, chaos, and anarchy.
The bullets fly, the glass shatters,
The world nothing but a piece of paper,
Torn down the middle.

 

Until

A wave travels swift
Over a raging sea
Then crashes on an island
Sending victims out to drift
It won’t be long till the island has little time left to be
And rock is turned to sand

But despite the loss and danger
The island digs its roots
And more and more is swept away
Never more to see day

It seems quite folly
To still hold strong
When the world has already gone horribly wrong
But then a flock of birds fly past
And choose to rest here at last
With them come young seeds
Which take to the ground like weeds

And spread theirs root wide
Till threes no more land to hide
And the sea falls silent
It knows what that meant
And as the wind dies down
The songs of birds are heard all around
A soothing harmony

And to this song
Many century’s long
The sea and land
Have peace​

 

Congrats guys! Sorry I didn't post last month. I had exams, dancing and you know, stress. Anyway, I'm making a colourful approach to this. Here we go!

PEACE

A peaceful time to me
Is the thought of being free
Is the sound of the precious birds
Without the energy

Its the sight of the trees
Getting through life with ease
And the feeling of the rush in your head
Is the calming, gentle breeze

Its the taste of being alive
That makes you never want to die
But if Earth is this good
Makes you wonder what heaven is like

If this peace were to break
That would be a huge mistake
Its a bloody awesome thing in life
We all need to stop and take

Its the feeling in the air
Its the wind in your hair
Thank God this peace is great enough
For everyone to share

Beyond the words of a wise Death spoken
The world falls upon a great foreboding.


But beyond me is that
Because where I stand
I find the great walls of the mind.


Under the shade of the tree of life
The one that grants wisdom that little can find
The one that shades from blinding light.


From there flow tears of vermillion
For many times I whimpered low
Letting the pain take its toll.


I pulled the trigger of Destiny
