Please help me figure this out

So my friend and I were walking and we spotted something strange on the sidewalk

And upon closer inspection it turned out to be a used tampon

I mean it didn't have blood or anything but it was definitely used

A fucking tampon

We also found the applicator up against a nearby wall

So what the fuck

I've tried to figure out if there is any possible explanation for this that makes sense but I can't

Please help
