    Inna was pondering the events that had begun to unfold when a hole appeared. The others were already firing off attacks while he stood back. He stared at his book and tapped his chin. “What to do…?” he looked at each one and a smile came on his face. Putting his book away, he took a step back and pointed his index finger. He then gathered water to his finger tip and shot a water beam towards the golem.

    Evie watched as the golems made their moves. She tried to think about her next move before the golems attacked again. She took a deep breath and decided to look through her spellbook and found another spell that might help. "Alright...Try this one! Spore Bomb!!" Spores had rose up around the golems and all at once, exploded one by one. Once Evie had made her move, she decided to prepare herself to dodge any attacks the golems might do.

    Evie used Spore Bomb and prepared to dodge!!

    Gale had gotten back onto his feet after that last attack of his with spellbook in hand ready to cast the next spell. Out of the three golems, only two of them had attacked and one of which had hit its mark."That looked like it hurt."A bit on the obvious side, but Raelyn had been the unfortunate one to take a hit from the golems and it didn't look pleasant. With his attention back on his spellbook, the attacks he had previously used were currently grayed out. That must've meant that they were on cooldown. Not the best of times to learn that. Gales eyes then looked towards the third spell listed, still bright and full of color. His had outstretched and the flames surrounded the opposing group of golems.

    Gale used Blaze Column and prepared to dodge.

    Jasmine liked the idea of trying out vine grab and went to go and activate that. She was a bit surprised as she felt the sudden sprouting of vines come from out of her body and she quickly directed her attention towards Golem C and she reached out to wrap the vines around it and pull it towards her. Then she got herself a nice clean punch in. She shook her hand a bit afterwards surprised by the pain but went back at the ready.

    Fighting against her own body, Raelyn tried to free herself from the stun that had seized her body moments before. Battle rushed around her, but it wasn't until the golems were attacking again that she managed to break free from the stunned state enough to keep helping. It made her feel a little useless as she was forced to watch what people were doing and she was standing there. It wasn't too late to step back in though. Keeping a bit towards the back Raelyn prepared another spell and threw it out towards as many as she could hit before she stepped back defending herself in order to not risk being stunned once more. She couldn't afford to just sit around and not help again, she had to at least try and be worth while.

    Raelyn used Aqua Stream then went into a defense stance.

    Inna was surprised he was able to hit the golem. After all, he was sure he was going to miss. The power of the water beam knocked him back a little, but he regained his composure after a few seconds. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his spellbook once more. His eyes scanned it's pages, looking for anything useful. He stopped on one spell and glanced upwards, staring at the most battered of the golems.

    He performed a spell and winked at the end, smirking at Golem B.

    After, he stood and waited, hoping to dodge any attacks that came his way.

    Inna used Aqua Bullets on Golem B and is standing ready to dodge.

    Being someone of average physical capabilities, Gale didn't think he would be able to dodge out of the way of an attack with as much ease as he did. When he had done so, there were a few moments in which he stood there impressed at the feat. He remembered that he was still in the middle of a battle, even if it was only a tutorial one, and went to his next attack. Fortunately his first spell was no longer grayed out. "Fire Bullets!" Hand outstretched again and the torrents of bullets shot off towards their targets. At the end of the spell he took a more defensive stance for the next attack.

    Evie took another deep breath as she saw two of the golems grow weak with each passing minute. She opened up her spell book once again and looked through her pages and found the spell she had used earlier in the battle. She took a deep breath before casting her spell. "Poison Needles!" The plants that had surrounded Evie rose up from the ground and had begun turning purple. The needles aimed themselves and on Evie's call, shot through the air, heading toward each golem. Once the needles flew away from her, Evie had prepared to dodge out of the way from any incoming attacks from the golems.

    Evie used Poison Needles and is now preparing to Dodge!

    Pretty impressed with the results of the way vine grab went, she wanted to see if she would be able to attack this Golem in particular and make this go faster. She threw a spore bomb this time in the thing's direction and prepared to strike the Golem again, not sure if it would be quite as effective this time but willing to at least test the waters.

    Come one, they were almost dead. This was just a game right? She could do this, she could keep going and finish off them. Two of the Golems looked a little bit worse for wear. She could handle that. Magic, she had magic and she could see the kind of damage that the magic had done before and what it could do to multiple of them. A tornado, that is what she had done before and that is what she could do again. Focusing she tried to remember how she had done it. As she started to sort out the intricacies of her magic, a tornado of water began to rise from the ground beneath them. As they were caught up in it, her eyes darted to the one that was more well of compared to the others. "You are not getting off this easily." It wasn't really a threat, or at least she wasn't trying to threaten them, what was the point? She just needed to say something, just talk. While one hand maintained the tornado of water, the other one shot out shooting a beam of water at the first Detainer golem.

    Inna felt the intense pain of the attack but it was soon gone. A side effect of being in a game, he supposed. He put a hand on his side and winced while he thought of what he could use now. "I know...I know...can't get knocked out now, can I?" he chuckled, pointing his finger gun at Golem C and sputtered out, "Water...Beam." he huffed, hoping he'd hit his target.

    The attacks had hurt, but not as much as he would think from a golem that size. It must've been a perk of them being in a video game. Gale took another glance towards his spellbook and made note of how things looks in it. His spells seemed like they would be usable one after another, good to know. The golems had to have been getting weaker as after all the damage that they've hit them with. "Please hit this time." Was all Gale had said before firing another Great Fire Blast

    Gale's last attack not only finished off another of the Detainer Golems, but it was also enough to destroy part of the prison block, causing debris to fly about, dust flaring. Rex dodged out of the radius zone, crossing his arms in front of his face to block his eyes. He looked partly ahead to see a stunned Evie, sitting on the ground. Some slow movement from above caught Rex's eye. He darted, scooping the girl up in his arms quickly, and backflipping away, just in time for a heavy stone to fall where Evie previously sat. Had she been there a second longer, the stone would have hurt her. They may be playing with different rules of physics, but he was pretty sure that blunt force trauma could end someone's life very quickly if it's heavy enough.

    The dust began to settle to show rubble. Part of the wall was gone to reveal a lush green countryside in a dark evening sky. Baleful moonlight flowed in, shining on the fallen form of the first Detainer Golem.

    The environmental aftershock and debris must have destroyed what was left of its HP. It lay stuck under part of the wall, its head dented, the Earth Glyph that marked the face smudged and dusty. It raised an arm at the group, glitching and sparking, as if making an attempt to grab them. But to no avail.

    Rex thought staring at the golem, "That Golem has no strength left. It's basically checkmate at this point. One of us could immediately wipe it out, and would be one less problem to worry about. However, that would also means there's a chance whoever built these Golems could come after us. We could spare it, but there's no telling what would happen later on down the line. We're not even sure who originally built these things, or if they're still around anymore."
    But what would be the right choice?

      There will be times in the story where you will be faced with a choice, one that can either make or break your reputation with NPCs and even your teammates. While making good choices will earn you Positive Karma, making a risky or poor decision will gain you Negative Karma. Having a lot of Negative Karma will affect your interactions with other NPCs, and they will be less likely to help you in more dire situations, and not making a choice at all may slash your Karma Meter. It is also much harder to gain Positive Karma, as 10 Positive Karma = 1 Negative Karma on the scale. A rule of thumb is to always try to make the right decision. You'll never know when you might be seeing that person again.

    Spare It or Checkmate?

    Spare It - Leave with a good conscience, but have no guarantees.

    Checkmate - Destroy it and gain the free experience, but risk repercussions.

    Inna moved and covered his face, looking from behind his arms. He saw Rex save Evie and jump away to watch the final Golem get trapped. it was near death and, honestly, Inna felt a little bad for it. Sure it was there for a reason, but SOMEBODY made it. So maybe destroying it was a bad idea. Who knows, keeping it half alive may be beneficial later. "I don't think we should destroy it. I mean, come on, SOMEBODY made it right? So if we destroy it, kill it, whatever, we will probably face worse later on. I think we should leave it." he suggested. His hands tucked themselves into his jacket pockets and he stood nonchalantly around, waiting to see the others' reactions.


    Unintentionally, he scooted over towards Jaz and he looked down at her. "What do you think? Leaving it is safest, ain't it?" he asked the only person here that he knew the name of. Though from their small time together, he knew she probably wanted to get rid of it. "If I can say, however, that marking we saw was evident that somebody powerful made these golems so...we don't want to get them angry, I think."

    Evie could barely even lift a finger as the others continued their strike against the Golems. Before she knew it, two of the three golems were eliminated. Just as Evie was finally able to move again, she felt her feet leave the ground she was standing on. "Wha?!" She turned her head to see that Rex had lifted her and immediately moved her away from the spot she was standing on earlier. Evie looked over to see pieces of the golems collapse onto the very earth she was just standing on. She was a little shocked. Evie looked over and had finally realized what was happening. "Ahh!!" She jumped out of Rex's arms and immediately ran behind Gale. After a few moments, Evie gasped a little before apologizing. "Sorry!! It just caught me off guard. Sorry about this Gale." Evie scratched her head a bit as a small shade of pink tinting her cheeks.

    Evie looked over to see the last golem, looking very weak and as if it was waiting for the final strike. She didn't know why but she wanted to spare its life or whatever life it had left. She looked over Gale's shoulder and spoke. "I think we should spare it. Maybe it could help us. Maybe tell us if there is a town nearby or something." Evie looked to the others as she gave her suggestion.

    There was a brief moment in which Gale was happy to see that his attack had not only hit, but took out one of the golems. When the destruction from the said attack had started to show, that feeling of happiness turned into an awkward chuckle before concern as rubble started falling down from the ceiling above them. Naturally, Gale was quick to move out of the way of harm, but the feeling of concern lingered watching how the others had faired. Thankfully no one had gotten hurt because of him. "My bad." Was all he offered with an awkward chuckle.

    Gale swore that he only blinked and all of a sudden Evie was hiding behind him. Did he, did he do something? Rather did someone else do something to cause this? "Its fine, don't worry. Are you okay though?" She, nor did anyone else, looked like that had actually been harmed by his attack. Not counting golem currently trapped under rubble. Gale had next turned his attention towards the same golem. So far the consensus was to leave it be as it posed no threat to them, which was a sentiment that he agreed with. "If it has no strength left, then it wouldn't be able to follow us unless someone fixes it." Which was a possibility given the marking they say all over the place. "Which hopefully they don't decide to hunt us down since we didn't completely break all of their things."

    "I would rather just take the thing out already. After all as fare as we are aware the robot thing, uncle something or other, had set off a trap, probably a tutorial battle that we were supposed to have further down the line. If we finish it off it prevents it from regenerating help if it could do such things. It won't just leave us alone." Raelyn suggested not too confident about the idea that sparing it would be a good idea. If they just left things as they were they might not get far, but Raelyn was a little bit more on the cautious side and rather would deal with things quickly then wait out and see how things would go. "We should get rid of this and then find out more about these traps and leave. I don't feel like sitting around in the prison just waiting for the guards to show up, I don't know about you guys but I don't like being arrested." Raelyn then pointed out as she turned towards the way the golems had come, her hair swishing behind her as she started forward a little bit.

    Rex became startled as Evie ran out of his arms. He was thinking so deeply that at first he didn't realize why she'd...oh.
    Rex too blushed a pale red color as his eyes blinked toward Evie as she hid behind Gale. He had scooped up the girl without thinking...didn't he? It made him feel odd to think about it. He lowered his eyes haughtily to the two, and without meaning to, snapped, "Sorry Evie, but some rubble was going to fall on you because Hoodie here decided to rip the tin-cans a new one!" He then caught himself, coughing and saying in a lower tone, "Besides...we, uh..can't afford teammates this early. It's only pragmatic, since we have more questions than actual answers."

    He needed to change his thought process, as what he did was making him somewhat uncomfortable of thought. He turned back to the Golem, trapped in the rubble. His blush vanished and his eyes became half-lidded, cold even. One could almost assume that he was planning to finish off the machine, but instead, he stated in a low tone. "As annoying as that was, I hate kicking an enemy while he's down." He turned back to the three whom also opted out. "But if I see another of these things again, I swear I'm going to pull a stunt worse than Gale. Mark my words, because thanks to bowling ball's little revelation of us being trapped in a game, my mind is literally REELING with the nerve to do something stupid."

    "Oi, mate! I am not a bloody bowling ball!" Uncle Dot came flying out of one of the cells to Rex, apparently hiding from the altercation.
    "Oh! Wait!" Rex mocked feign surprise, only to hunch over and glare tartly at the AI. "I just realized how much I do not care." He rubbed his temples. "And I doubt that my migraine does either." He sat down.
    "I would rather just take the thing out already. Rex raised his hands in a manner comparable to devil-may-care. "Cuz apparently, I somehow know what he means by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and NPCs and such, including freaking scripted events."

    "And I can tell you with certainty that I had no knowledge of the trap placed." Dot chimed in. "I'm able to detect players, other NPCs and the like. However, game objects, and other materia are not within my jurisdiction of function."
    "Which literally means he didn't know jack in a nutshell." Rex stated. "God, now I can translate lab rat english."
