~ Organization XIII In WalMart ~

Kairi silently took the house key out of her pocket and unlocked the door before stepping inside with Nami. She let Riku and Akito into the house before she closed the door behind them. Then she led Riku through the house to their bedrooms, and she walked into nami's room and laid her on her bed. She looked down at her sister's sleeping body, and tears came to her eyes. Even though they could be a handful sometimes, they were angels when they were sleeping... And she hated to have to tell them what had happened. A tear silently slipped down Kairi's cheek and she wiped it away, walking back out into the hallway.

 

Once Kairi had opened the door and stepped in, Riku followed her into the house, softly closing the door behind him with his feet. The house was dark, but enough light came through the windows to give then a clear view of what was around them. Riku followed the crimson haired girl up to the kids' bedroom and once Kairi had put Nami down on her bed, Riku too did the same with Akito on his own bed. Pulling the covers softly over the sleeping boy, he turned to face Kairi. She still wept. He didn't blame her, it would be hard to keep yourself together on certain matters such as this. Walking up behind Kairi, he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze and small nod to say that he was here, and everything will be better. He gently tugged at her shoulders, guiding her out of the room, not wanting to wake the kids.

 

Kairi looked at Riku as he guided her back out into the hallway. It wasn't until then that she'd really felt the pain of her mom leaving hit her. Quietly, she closed their bedroom door. However, she didn't take her hand off of the door handle as she looked down, moist tears falling down her cheeks. She didn't want to cry, but she felt so much pain bottled up inside of her... But she especially didn't want to cry in front of Riku. It made her seem weak and it made her seem like she was a crybaby. She didn't want anyone to think that of her.

 

Riku only wished he could say something magical to make all her tears go away, but he knew it was better this way. It'd only hurt her if she'd kept the tears locked inside, so he let her cry. He pulled her close to him again, and he let her cry. Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, he led her down the hall and downstairs into the living room. If the kids were to wake now... well it wouldn't be quite that easy to explain to them why their sister was suddenly falling apart, and why he was staying the night, or why their mother was not home. He gently sat her down on the sofa and cozied up to her, embarking her in a warm hug, gently running his fingers through her hair

Kairi let go of the door handle as the tears flowed down her face, dropping silently to the floor. She blushed a bit as she felt Riku warmly embrace her, and she started to sob, unable to stop herself. She walked with Riku as he led her to the living room and sat down on a couch with her, holding her tight. She held on tightly to him, sobbing. Her tears were uncontrolable... She felt this aching pain inside and she didn't understand... She didn't understand why her mom had left... She didn't understand how this had all happened... And she didn't understand why. Why did she have to go through all of this?!

 

OOC: this is really ironic... <_<

Riku leaned back his head on the couch, staring out the window, when Kairi began to sob. Good. Let it all out, he thought. His hands continued to caress her hair, her face still buried in his toned chest, fingers clutching onto his shirt. He had nothing to say to her. Nothing he'll say will make it all better. This is a test that she must go through and all he could do for the moment is just be there by her side and be the stick that she can use for support. Her tears came rolling down her cheeks non stop, and she cried silently on his chest. His heart broke to see her like this, yet he didn't tell her to stop. No...
"Save your happiness for tomorrow, and today we'll drown in your tears."

Kairi held him close as she cried, not wanting to let go. Just having him there made her feel a thousand times better... He made her feel comfortable and safe. As the tears rolled down her cheeks, she closed her eyes, burying her face in his chest. His warm embrace made her feel like she could get through all of this... Like she could survive this way. Kairi's sobbing started to become quieter as she soon calmed down, tears now falling silently down her cheeks.

"Tomorrow when okasan comes, everything will be ok." He whispered, his eyes still looking out the window. He felt that if he looked at her face now, he'd probably break now as well. Her tears were his biggest weakness. Though his eyes did not look down at her, his hands, however, still had managed to find the littler streaks of tears that had rolled down on her cheeks and wiped them clean. He felt the liquid between his fingers, and clenched his fist... disappointment, and frustration. He'd promised her, he'd promised her a long long time ago that he'd no make her cry... that he'd protect her from these wretched tears at all costs. OH how he failed, even if the situation was not under his control, but he still failed. He didn't know what he could do to make her smile, he was lost. "We'll go looking for your okasan tomorrow after work."

 

Kairi looked up at him, startled. They'd go look for her?! But she'd run away... Kairi knew that they couldn't force her back, anyways... She looked down. "But... What'll we do if we find her?" Kairi asked. "We can't make her come back, and she's probably too far away by now... She could be anywhere..." She closed her eyes and wiped them with her hand, getting rid of any tears that were left. She felt so much better now that she had cried. It really was better not to hold it in. She still held on to Riku, not letting go. Even though she thought they couldn't fine her, she still had this glint of hope inside of her that maybe they could...

 

"At least we can know that she's okey... right?" He replied, finally looking down at her delicate face. Her eyes were puffy and red from all the tears. Her cheeks lightly red from the salty liquid that had rolled down her cheeks. Looking at her silently, he only embraced her tightly in his arms. "Don't worry, I know we'll find her. And no matter where she might be, I'll find her for you."
He pressed his lips lightly on her forehead and closed his eyes. Her sweet scent flowed into him like a drug and he let it send the chill of it down his spine and his thumping heart. "Kairi, sleep for now. You are tired and you must rest. I'll be here."

 

Seifer took another look towards Xaldin, this time at the wall. "That's where he came from..." he thought. So he ran past Xaldin and attempted to blow the wall off. He weakened it with a assault of bullets and took it down with category 3 hurricane winds. He rushed up the stairs. An old door was at the top. It was locked, but he kicked it down. He sniffed the air hard. "I miss this air..." he said embracing it. His color came back. After a few moments, he soon noticed that it was night. "Aw man, gotta get back to my place. It's freezing out here...and it's far...kinda." He walked home, which was about a few blocks away from Riku's place.

 

Kairi nodded. He was right. Even if she wouldn't come back or even talk to her, she could still feel better knowing that she was alright and safe... If she just knew that, then she'd be so much happier inside. However, there was one thing she wanted from her mom... Reassurance. She wanted her to say once again that everything would be okay... And that she would be able to handle it... She wanted her mom to be proud of how much she'd grown up, and she planned on doing her best as her siblings new parent. But she still wanted to speak with her... at least once more. Quietly, she closed her eyes, relaxing a bit more as she still held on to Riku. "Thanks, Riku..." She said. Thanks to him, she'd been able to get through it this far, and she'd felt more confident. She knew she couldn't handle this alone, so it made her feel good to have him here to help and make everything better.

 

OOC: If this wasn't a male character I was dealing with, then I definitely would've made her sing a lullaby.. xD I mean it's just the right mood for one. xD

"Hmm.." He simply grunted, his lips still pressed against her forehead. He looked into the dark room and wondered... he promised her to find her mother, but he honestly did not know where to start. What will he do if he cannot find her? He promised her, but it was such an open-ended promise... he really didn't know what he'd say, or how he'd be able to face her if he wasn't able to find her. He sighed, trying to knock out the negative thoughts. He must be positive about this. He'll surely take care of this problem.

 

OOC- that would be perfect! If it weren't a guy... nonetheless, Riku... lol XD

Kairi felt relaxed, like she couldn't feel pain anymore. It felt to her like her problems were ended, yet, she still knew that it wasn't anywhere near over. In fact, her problems were just beginning... In a moment, Kairi opened her eyes and sat up. She turned her head to look at Riku. "You should go to sleep, too..." She said. "It's been a long day for you, too..." She gave him a small smile, knowing that he'd had a rough day, too, starting with the cash register problems.

 

OOC: lulz... yep... xD


"Oh no!" He face palmed himself. Her recalling about the crazy day with the cash register, he was just reminded that he never paid for the macaroni salad he'd taken out of the fridge from the food section. Looking at her through his fingers, he agreed... she was actually quite correct. He was dead tired from the day, and the only rest he'd gotten was when he'd gone home for only a few minutes. Her kind eyes looked at him with much concern and he replied, "Yeah..."
Bu how can he sleep knowing she was dying inside?

 

OOC- aww... even though it's quite sad, that's really cute <3 XD

Kairi stood up and smiled. "Alright... And I'm guessing you didn't bring a change of clothes with you...?" She said and rubbed the back of her head. He had taken her to the daycare, and they didn't stop by his house to get him anything to stay the night at her house. She didn't want to make him go back to his house, though. She could see the bags under his eyes and knew how hard of a day he'd had, so she knew that he was tired. Besides, it was dangerous to be out this late at night.

 

OOC: once again... ironic. <_<


"I'll be fine with these clothes, Kairi." He gave her a sweet smile. "It's just a matter of one night, and I'll just slip into something more comfortable after Okasan gets here tomorrow."
The room was still dark, and he could only see the vague figure of Kairi standing in front of him, and he reached for her hands and gave a tight squeeze.
"I care about you getting your proper rest now more than what I'm wearing. Sleep. You need the rest. I'll be fine on the sofa."

Kairi looked at him a bit worriedly, but then she nodded. "Alright, as long as you're sure..." She said and looked up at him. "But if it's too uncomfortable out here, then feel free to move to my parents room, alright?" She said and smiled, giving him a hug. "I guess I'll see you in the morning, then..." She gently kissed him on the cheek again and smiled. "Good night," She said and walked of towards her room. To say the truth, she'd felt herself becoming more and more attracted to Riku each day. It's as if the more time she spent with him, the more attracted to him she became. It was odd, especially since she'd never felt like this around him before.

 

"Good night."
Riku watched her walk away from him after she'd left him with another kiss on the cheeks. His cheeks burned as the blood rushed to them, and he held back the smile that had come across his face. He watcher her climb the stairs and soon disappear behind the corner, and he sighed. He leaned back against the sofa and stared blankly at the ceiling, wondering what will happen tomorrow. This was a crazy day to begin with... and as the minutes passed, it just seemed to worsen. As his mind wondered from thought to thought, he himself didn't realize when his eyes closed shut and he drifted into a land of dreams.

 

After saying good night to Riku, Kairi had walked to her room, quickly changed her closed, and gotten into her bed. She stayed up for a bit, thinking about a few things, but it wasn't long before her body gave in and she drifted off into sleep.

OOC- I'm out of ideas, so let's just say it's the next day... >>

The next morning, Kairi opened her eyes slowly, looking around her. She yawned and sat up, stretching. Quickly, she turned off her alarm clock. Great. Another day of work... She sighed as she got out of her bed, rubbing her eyes. She thought that she better go wake up Riku, although he may already be awake.
