~ Organization XIII In WalMart ~

Seifer looked around. "...I...can't do this...anymore..." he said while leaning on the lance. As if responding to this comment, the lance unleashed a group of small tornadoes at the orange soldiers. The tornadoes quickly ripped them apart and turned into data orbs. Seifer absorbed them all. Since he was data also, that extra data rejuvinated him back to full health. "Actually, I'll have to take that back. Besides..." He got stood up and took out his camera. "...your a** will be fried! Prepare to be deleted!" He pointed his gunblade at the MCP with one hand and the camera in the other. The lance floated around him with the stored power of wind inside it. His appearance changed to his normal look, not that old neon blue. A laser barrier blocked the exit.

Xaldin just happened to overhear Xemnas talking to Saix and walked over. "I thought I saw Larxene and Axel go off to a restaurant, on a date probably. Roxas was in the Staff Lounge all this time. And I haven't seen Marluxia all day after he got a beat down by Larxene." he told Xemnas. "Isn't that show on the roof supposed to start about now?" he asked. The moon was out and was shining directly above the two stores.

 

It was now night and the staff at the crew was still the same. Heck, it was even busier at night than it was when it was day. God d*** it......well.....I wonder if we could disguises....... She looked around the room for something that could be a disguise. "Vexen......we're going to have to wear disguises.....but...since I'm too young to be a doctor.....or a nurse....I guess I'll have to be a patient....and you could be the doctor...but......where are we going to get a doctor's uniform?" Angel changed back into her patient dress.

Kairi took the key to her house out of her pocket and unlocked the door, stepping inside. Then, she closed the door behind her and locked it. "Mom, I'm home!" She shouted towards the kitchen, where she knew her mom was probably making dinner. Next, she headed up to her bedroom and laid her stuff by her bed. She immediately changed out of the flowery, colorful outfit and into a pair of baggy sweatpants and a t-shirt. Flopping down on her bed, she stared up at the ceiling, a smile spread across her face. She wasn't sure why, but she felt like she was in a state of bliss... and exhaustion. The only thing she could seem to think about was Riku, and how much she was looking forward to spending time with him tomorrow. However, she soon noticed that her house seemed unusually quiet. Hmm... odd... She thought and sat up. Maybe I'll go see what's going on... She walked out of her bedroom and headed downstairs. She didn't smell her mom's dinner like she usually did. In fact, she didn't even hear her mom in the kitchen at all. When she walked in there, the kitchen was empty. She looked around. Suddenly, she noticed a note on the fridge. Silently, she walked over to it and read it.

Dear family,
I bet you've noticed that I'm not at home right now. Well, I wouldn't leave the house without explaining where I'm going, so I left you this note. I'm sorry to say that life's just become too much for me. I can't handle all of the stress that's being put on me and taking care of you has just become too much for me. I'm sorry I left out of the blue like this, but it's just what I feel I needed to do. I'm sorry, but I don't know if I'll be coming back or not. Kairi, please take care of your younger siblings. Once again, I apologize and I'll miss you all greatly.

Kairi's jaw gaped, completely shocked. Her mom... had left?! Just like that?! But, why?! Things had been going so well... This was completely random... The note dropped from Kairi's hands and fell to the floor. She leaned against the counter, feeling like she wanted to faint. She could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Crap... This can't be happening... She thought. Her brother and her sister were both at daycare at the moment, so they didn't know what was going on yet.

Riku had arrived home exactly one hour after he'd dropped off Kairi. He stepped out of his car and after locking it and putting on the alarm, he pressed the switch to shut the garage door. He slipped out from under the garage door just in time before it fully closed. Twirling his keys on his finger and whistling he walked up to his front door, and unlocked it.
"Tadaima." He called out. No answer. Looks like Sora wasn't home yet. "Ok then...."
He took off his shoes and turned on the lights and headed straight for the fridge. He was starved, and he didn't even bother changing first or freshening up first. Opening the fridge, he scanned it for anything that looked appealing.... and everything did. He pulled out the sandwich he'd made in the morning, but hadn't had time to eat.
"Good enough.." he mumbled also grabbing a small pudding pack, some left over mashed potatoes, a packet of sliced turkey, small packet of fruit salad and a SunnyDelight bottle. He made himself comfortable on the sofa and turned on his TV and began searching for something good, and eventually settling on ESPN, where they were showing a re-run of today's game. He bit into his sandwich hungrily and was gone within a matter of minutes and he moved on to the next item. It was quite a sight as he stuffed himself and watching TV with very focused eyes.
"VAYY! VOUCH BOWN!!" He screamed out with a full mouth. "Vell Veah!!"


OOC: I own a Toyota Camry, yr 2004... someday I'll own the car Riku has... T_T But until then.. I'm content with my 5EXY car.

 

Kairi didn't know what to do. she was having a panic attack. So, apparently, she was parentless, now... But how could she take care of two screaming children?! She had enough stress at work as it was, and she was just barely at the age to start dating... Tears fell down her cheeks as she sat down on the floor, now, her back against the kitchen cabinets. She shook her head. "Okay, Kairi... Don't panic..." She said to herself softly. "Maybe... go get the kids from daycare... yeah..." Since she'd hardly eaten all day, she decided to get a sandwhich before she went to get them. Quickly, she fixed herself a sandwhich and ate it. Them, she changed into some decent clothes, grabbed a jacket, and then headed out of the front door. it was then that she realized she'd left her car at Kmart, since Riku had given her a ride home. "Shoot!" She screamed and took out her cellphone. She quickly dialed Riku's number. She didn't know who else to call, since she didn't really know anybody who was nearby. Since Riku's cellphone was broken, she called his house. She waited for an awnser, in a panic state at the moment. Once somebody awnsered, she spoke. "H-Hello...?" She said, trying not to make her voice sound nervous, but it wasn't working too well...

Riku was celebrating yet another touchdown. This day was only getting better and better for him. Not only did he receive promising words of a raise from Sephiroth, but he'd even had received a kiss from Kairi AND won a date with her tomorrow as well. Now if his team had won the game, then he'd just made an easy $500 from Sora.
"Hell yeah!!" He cheered. "Go! Go! G- huh?" He heard the phone ring. He wondered who could be calling him at this hour? He eyed the TV as he walked over to the phone, still not averting his eyes off the screen. He felt the table of the cordless phone and eventually when his hand had reached it correctly, he picked it up.
"Hel-hel-hello?" He answered, his attention still on the game. There was only 4 minutes left and the score was tied, this would determine if he'd either gain or lose $500. But his entire expression and concentration changed as he recognized the voice on the other side of the phone.
"Kairi??" He asked. What was she calling him for, and that too at such an hour. He was sure she was hiding something, her tone said it all. "Is everything ok?"

The TV cheered loudly in the background as one of the teams claimed thier victory.

Kairi held the phone to her ear, trembling a bit, both from the cold and from her nervousness. "Yeah... Everything's fine..." She replied, but sighed, knowing thta he could already tell something was up. "Well, know... Not exactly..." She said, looking down. "I-I didn't mean to call you so late, but I was wondering if you could give me a ride to the daycare, since my car is still at Kmart..." She closed her eyes, a tear falling down her cheek as she did so. She found that she would rather not explain why she needed to go to the daycare to him, unless he asked.

 

"Sure... I don't mind giving you a ride to the daycare." He answered her without even giving it a second thought. Whatever was her wish, was his command. "Is your mother ill?"
He understood quite well she hid something behind that nervous and shaking tone. "I'll be there in 30 minutes. I'll see you in a bit."
He was about to hang up the phone when suddenly he called her once more, "Kairi... It's ok." He said it in a soft and affectionate tone, before disconnecting. Something sure wasn't right. He immediately grabbed his car keys and rushed out of his house.

 

Kairi just stared at the ground when he asked if her mother was ill. However, he had hung up before she got a chance to reply to him. "See ya..." She said just before he'd disconnected. Hot tears ran down her face as she sat against the wall of her house. She wished that her mother would just drive up the road and pull up to their house and say that it was all just a joke... but she knew that wouldn't happen anytime soon... She buried her face in her knees as she waited for Riku to arrive.

Riku literally raced down the freeway as fast as he could, trying to reach Kairi sooner than he siad he would. Fortunately, the freeway was indeed free, thus he face no trouble on the way. It'd started to rain again in Kairi's neighborhood, this time it was heavy. He tried his best to drive as fast as he could in the rain, in the safest way possible. He reached her house 10 minutes faster than he said he would. Pulling his car up in the driveway, he stepped out of the car, and ran to her front front door attempting to get out of the pouring rain as soon as possible.
"KAIRI!!" He knocked loudly. "It's Riku!"

 

Once it had started raining in Kairi's neighborhood, she really didn't want to get wet. So, she had gone back inside the house. Quietly she waited for Riku, sometimes walking around aimlessly just to kill time. Then, when she heard a knock on the door, she quickly ran over and opened it. "Hey, Riku..." She said and smiled, glad to see him. "The daycare isn't too far from here..." She said. "And... Thanks, again, for helping me..." She said.

"No problem." He answered. He saw the red puffy eyes which clearly told him she'd been crying. But why? He took her hand pulled her closer and wrpped her around his jacket to protect her from the pouring rain and made a quick run for the car. Helping her in, he too entered before he was soked any more. Shutting the door, he looked at her face once more. I was dark, but he was sure she was hiding her tears, for she did not look at him. "You ok? You seem to be crying, Kairi. Don't lie to me. I'm not blind."

 

Kairi stayed close to him as they made a dash for the car, avoiding the rain as best they could. She then got into the car and closed the door. She had looked towards the window after that, hoping that he wouldn't notice she'd been crying. However, she didn't hide it very well, because he still noticed. She'd promised herself that she'd tell him what's wrong if he asked, so she would. However, she hesitated a bit, trying to think of how to explain it. She decided that it'd probably be best to just go right out and tell him. What did it matter how she said it, anyhow? Quietly, she looked down at her hands. "Well, actually, my mom's not ill..." She said. When you dropped me off after work, my mom wasn't in the kitchen like she usually was, and my siblings weren't home. I found a note and the fridge and..." Tears started to fall down her cheeks. It was hard for her to say. "M-My mom left... Gone... Possibly forever..."

 

His mint colored eyes looked at her intimately as he slowly raised his hand her turned her head towards him by her chin, gently wiping the tears off her rosy cheeks with his thumb. He honestly didn't know what he could say to her make her feel better, he was lost... but at times like this, a simple act can do more than words can comfort. He kissed her forehead had pulled her closer to his chest, and held her tightly. He felt the hot tears roll down her cheeks once more, seeping into this shirt. He grazed her hair gently, trying to comfort her as he pressed his lips on her head.
"I'm here... I'm here."
He whispered.

 

Kiari closed her eyes when he pulled her close, crying. She hardly even minded that he kissed her on the forehead. She felt awful right now, and she couldn't think of anything right now. Her mind was completely blank. She gently wrapped her arms around him. He was right. He was there. And she was glad that he was, too. "I-I don't know what to do anymore..." She said softly.

 

"Hey... we'll get through this and we'll figure something out okey? Promise." He said pulling her away from him and cupping her soft and wet cheeks in his hands. "Don't cry now. Remember, you are strong, be strong. If you break now, then everything will fall apart."
He stared at the blue eyes reassuringly and affectionately. This indeed was a troubling matter. With her mother gone, she was now the sole provider of the family. He'd have to take the matter into his won hands.
The rain beat down windows a windshield with loud tapping noises, and the soft whistle of the wind entered the silence through the small gaps of the window.

 

Kairi looked at him, feeling better with his words. Everything he had said was true. She needed to be strong... For her siblings and herself. She would now have to learn how to be a good parent. Then somthing occured to her. She was not yet old enough to take custody. She held onto Riku tightly, knowing that the state would send her and her siblings to an orphanage. "R-Riku... I'm not old enough to take custody of my siblings, yet..." She said worridly.

 

OOC: oh hell.. I'm aking Riku 18 ftw.


Riku froze. She was right... she was absolutely right. She was still underage (what age?). This would be a problem.
"Shhh.." He shushed her. "No one needs to know that you are alone with your siblings... and if a legal guardian is needed, Kairi, I'm here. I AM of age. Don't worry. I won't let anyone separate you from your siblings... and I wouldn't give you up so easily."
With that he pulled her close once more in his embrace.

 

OOC: lol... Kairi can be 17 I guess... her and Riku can't be too far apart... XP

BIC: Kairi hugged him tightly, tears still falling down her cheeks. "Thanks, Riku..." She said, somewhat at ease, now. However, they still needed to pick up her siblings.

 

"No need to say anyhing Kairi." He said speaking in a soothing tone. "I wouldn't leave you alone even if it would cost me my life."
He gently caressed her hair and cheeks, trying to keep the mood in a rather happy level. He hated to see her cry. He hated those salty drops of water that came streaming down her eyes. When he looks at them, he only hears the drops speaking to him, telling him that he couldn't keep her happy... he'd made her cry. He gave her a tight squeeze before letting go. Wiping her wet eyes once more, he gave her smile she loved so much. Then straightening up, he put on his seatbelt.
"We'd better get going. It's quite late."
