As I stated in one of my pervious post I mention that they get there emotion from the Cobra memebers who are past bosses.

 

They may get it from them, but all I'm saying is just because they are accompanied by those names, does not mean that that emotion is alone tied, and cannot mean otherwise.

 

Sorry but this is going to bug me so I'm going to do it anyway.

Wrong if Hideo Kojima was going to give anyone the title of The Joy. It would either be her son Ocelot or the clone of her greatest pupil. The fact that the other characters of the B&B unit only carry one aspect of the a previous villain. Doesn't make it that the verbs in their name have any reflection on a previous title such as, Joy, Fear, Pain, Sorrow, Fury, and the End. The whole idea of an emotion as a title for a soilder is reflected on how that person enters a battle and survivies.

You make a good point. If there was an Ocelot member they probably would have Joy. But seeing how there is no ocelot member that still make Laughing Octopus have the Joy emotion.

But you also have to take in the fact of the situation of which they aquired their title. When L.O got her name she wasn't in joy. She was scared alone and most of all terrified of becoming the monster that was caused out of her own personal sadistac torrment.

True, but at points in the game they state that while it she wasn't enjoy anything she still appears to be enjoying herself, to make the enemy think she was enjoying kill them. Drebin even said that "she was forced to kill her family and friends while laughing. Like she was enjoying it."

 

But faking an emtion and acutally feel the real thing goes along way. If you lie to yourself enough times you begin to be wrapped and disilliusioned by our own lie. That is the case with her, she was torn up by the lie of "enjoyin" killing her family that she believed it. If she really was the soilder of joy then laughter wouldn't have been the choice of her emtion into battle.

BTW, did you see the scene where Octopus sighed?

Maybe. It kinda sounded like a depressed sigh. But her mask covers her face so I can't see her faceial(sp) expression.

 

That or the fact she had to pull a knife out of one of her tentecles.

 

It didn't hurt her. So I doubt it was because of the knife.

 

I didn't say it hurt her, I'm just saying she was probably put off that Vamp gave her a direct order that she had to follow or else.

....BAD idea to watch an anime with subs that you can't read. (damn Spanish, the subs have left me in despair!)
