Axel's eyes widened a bit in relief when she woke up, and he smiled for the first time so far in these hours. But the question was, did it work? Does she remember? Carefully, he placed his hand to her cheek, staring at her softly, "Shigiku...are you alright? Do you know me...?"

 

OOC- oh... fine... >.< lol

Shigiku looked up at him and sat up, smiling. "Of course I know you!" she said and grinned, hugging him.

Namine sighed and relief and smiled that nothing went wrong so far. But there's still a chance that something could happen... but I won't tell Axel for now... she thought.

.......I think this is the second time I finished singing 99 cans of Dr.Pepper........*sigh*........man.......I can't play video games anymore........I can't read.........I can't do anything.......

She clenched her fists at her side and really felt like throwing something hard at the wall.

 

Axel returned her embrace tightly, and began to squeeze her playfully as he made a purposeful hum noise in his throat. It wasn't until after a while that he released her, giving her another brief hug, before ruffling her pink colored hair. He couldn't help but be relaxed that nothing went wrong, though he in the end lost his appetite. So much for that delicious double whopper...

"So, she'll remember permanently from now on?" Axel questioned, staring at Naminé from the corner of his eyes.

 

"Well..." Namine started and looked down. "I'm not completely positive yet... but from the looks of it, she'll remember everything just fine from now on..." she looked back up at him and smiled.

Shigiku looked to both of them, confused. "What are you talking about?" she asked. They had never told her that she had memory loss.

 

He smiled back, finally at peace, and hearing Shigiku's question, he hesitated a little, wondering if he should tell her the truth. Axel didn't want to, but she obviously picked up on it, and it would only get more suspicious, besides that, he was a firm believer that kids aren't as dense as people think them to be. He glanced at Naminé for a second, before sighing, gazing at the little girl. "Well...you kept having short term memory loss, which is why you always fell asleep, and Naminé always helped you. But you're better now....so we don't have to worry..."

Shigiku tilted her head. "Short term memory loss...?" she asked. "Really...?" she looked down. "Oh... okay... but it's gone... right? Forever?" She looked up at Axel and Namine hopefully.

Namine looked at Axel and then back at Shigiku. She didn't know if she should tell her the truth, but she felt it better that a girl as young as her shouldn't know something like that... although it might be useful if she told her that her life was in danger. "Y-Yeah... it's gone forever..." she said unsure.

Shigiku smiled. "Okay..." she said and smiled. "But how did you fix it...?" she asked, now curious.

 

OOC: Lol. That's actually a Timbaland production...? Sounds a bit differen than his usual electronic beats now.

Axel quickly eyed Naminé sharply, perfectly noticing the uncertainty in her tone. Just when he thought he could be calmed, something happens to set him off, and now in thought if the blonde was keeping things from him. Giving her a penetrating stare, he went back to Shigiku, his face turning from hard, to soft. "I got you your corn dog. You still hungry?"

 

"Not really..." Shigiku said. She felt a bit sick.

Namine saw Axel's stare and gave him a look that said she'd tell him later. I'll tell him... but I think it'd be better if we keep it from Shigiku for now... she thought, looking at the small girl, almost sadly. She felt bad that someone as young as her had to go through this.

"Axel-sama... is Angel gonna be okay?" she asked, thinking of the girl she had seen at the infirmary.

Axel kind of stayed quiet at the question after Naminé and him connected eyes again, not knowing how to respond. She'll be okay, but really won't be. He still thought it horrible for someone to lose their eyesight, and will never see again, the ocean, the sky...yet Angel threw it off to him as nothing, but he knew better. Taking in a breath, he replied carefully, "Yes, she's fine, she just needs to heal. But...she won't be able to see the world anymore..."

 

Shigiku tilted her head and looked at Axel, noticing the sad tone in his voice. "What do you mean...?" she asked and suddenly became alert. "She's not going to get her eyes taken out, is she?!" she asked, worried.

Namine sighed and put a hand on her shoulder. "No... she'll still have them... but she won't be able to use them..." she replied.

"Oh..." Shigiku said and looked down, a bit sad for Angel.

OOC- It just struck me that in this little "scene" right here... Namine and Axel look like Shigiku's parents... O.o If I walked into that room I would probably think that they were... lol...

 

OOC: OMG, you're right! xD Red and pale blonde making some pinkish hair! But, well, they are kind of...substitute parents...

After chuckling a little to her question, he laid on his back in the bed, as when Shigiku sat up, he sat up as well. Tapping her cheek with his finger as he looked sideways at her, he said, "Don't worry. She might still have some type of chance. Besides, did you know that if you can't see with your eyes, your hearing and smelling gets better?"

 

OOC- not for long... *evil grin* maybe... I have a plan but I dunno if I should go through with it... lol...

Shigiku looked at Axel excitedly. "Really?" she asked. "That's awesome!" she said and grinned.

Namine giggled a little.

"So... she's going to be fine?" Shigiku asked and smiled, because she already knew the awnser and it had been a rhetorical question. "That's good to hear..."

 

OOC: *gasp* You're gonna break Axel's nonexistant heart xD.

Axel nodded in agreement, closing his eyes, and thinking if he should go now, as he felt he overstayed his welcome. But what Naminé was hiding nagged at the back of his head, yet he knew he was going to have to wait. He didn't want to though, he'll spent all night wondering about it, that he knew. "You know, so much for the food...I'm not hungry, and Shi isn't either...good thing it was cheap."

 

Namine nodded and saw that Axel looked a bit annoyed aat something, and figured that it was what she needed to tell him. "Shigiku... it's pretty late... I think It's time for you to go to bed..." she said.

"Aww... alright..." Ahigiku said and hugged Axel. "Night, Axel-sama!" she said.

OOC- lol no I'm not... :3 you probably thought of that the wrong way... >.< you'll see what happens... lol...

 

"Night, Pumpkin-chan!" Axel bid to her back, returning her hug as his face dug into her shoulder as they laid down. He was quite...uneasy about what Naminé had to say, and he hoped it wasn't anything saddening. Releasing her, Axel kissed her forehead sweetly as he ruffled her hair again (a habit he's getting used to), and breathed. After this, he looked back at Naminé, aware that they were going to talk about Shigiku's health, and yet he turned his attention back to the little girl. "I wish I could tell you a story, but maybe tomorrow..."

 

"Okay!" Shigiku said and smiled. "See ya tomorrow!" She walked to the bathroom and went to take a shower before she went to bed.

Namine took a deep breath and looked down, not really sure how to start.

OOC- aww... that's so KAWAII!!! XD XD i feel warm and fuzzy inside... lol... ^^

 

OOC: Lol xDD! Me too...I was like "awwing" all the while I was writing it.

After he was sure that Shigiku was in the bathroom, and not be able to hear the conversation, he turned immediately to Naminé, eyeing her sternly, with a hint of concern. She seemed to be in thought, though he didn't have time for that. "Okay, now....spill."

Namine sighed.
"Alright..." she said.
"It appears that I've fixed her memory problem... for now..." she added at the end.
"There are still many things that I'm not sure of... I don't know if it is permenant or not... and I don't know what side effects it could have... and the other problem is that I don't know how to figure these things out... I won't be able to know for sure until it happens... meaning..." she hesitated.
"Meaning... that if she dies... I won't be able to find out until it's too late..." she looked down at this statement.

 

Axel just stared blankly for a moment, letting it all sink in as he took the news, dumbfounded. It was after a moment of silence that he felt something in his stomach bubble in anger and some sort of pain, at Naminé for keeping this from him, and for the loss.... he knew it was risky, he was hoping that everything will be fine, so he allowed it...but he didn't want Shigiku to be gone....the girl didn't deserve it. "So she can die?! You're going to let her die?! Isn't there anything you can do...we just wait and sit until she falls down and freaking dies for a answer!?"
