Me and Trig are having a fight...Which one Is correct?

I hit my foot off the desk

or

I hit my foot on the desk

 

hit my foot off the desk uhhh doesn't make sense WHO WROTE THIS :P

it depends if you came into contact with your foot and caused it to fall...if so then you hit it off... if you just hit your foot while walking for example then you hit it ON...

Your foot has to be on the desk to hit it off, otherwise it you hit your foot on the desk.

I think it is just down to personal preference :P I use both ^^​

 

i always say that i hit my foot on something, unless my foot fell off, then i say it got hit off. i'm like the grammar police, it annoys me when people say things wrong (then again, it's probably twice as annoying when i correct people!:) )

 

i dunno maybe on maybe off who da hell knows these stupid questions?!

It's actually "I hit my foot near/before/on top of/ around/ in the vicinity of/ after/ in some way connected to/ destroying/ in reference to/ not about/ some time close to/ off/ on/ and I hit the desk." In my opinion.

 

It'd I hit my foot on the desk, why in god's name would it be off the desk?
