Her: There is an age restriction ^-^ Your not allowed to have any pink in your hamburger for safety reasons.

I've been to places like that too and they did not just even say I was 'too young' but rather that they would not cook a hamburger medium rare. Though you can get steak cooked as you want, unfortunately hamburger meat is not always the same quality so some places do insist on this because they do not want to take a chance with having someone get sick.

It is funny, but at the same time, I guess this teaches us if we want something cooked up as we want to eat it, we can always just eat at home. I do find it weird though that she said it was because you were 'too young' to make such a choice. So if you were 18 or 21 it'd have been cool to let you rot or something? That's just bizarre.
