Rather, I wish to discredit anyone who fails to do something and then says, "Does it really matter?" or, "It's hard so I'm not to blame". That is just bad form.

 

Eh, most KHV members seem to be completely bewildered at any kind of dead pan. Sarcasm doesn't have to be obvious, in a matter of fact it shouldn't be, then there's no fun. Making the claims just on the side of silly should be enough. I did think it was sarcasm, or a joke, whichever term you would like, before I read that he had said it. Two main reasons: the one I mentioned in my previous post, but also the fact that he seems to know Persona, but not the most important character in the series? Seemed unlikely to me.

Not sure when he said "does it really matter?", but alright. It would be understandable to do, though, after some of the posts in this thread.

Ah, I should clarify. It was the previous experiences and general impression that one gets from Aqua that made me and the others not catch his sarcasm. It seemed more likely that he would be an idiot than that he would be sarcastic, and our minds adjusted accordingly. It also seemed more likely that he would not know about Persona than know about it. His joke matched what we expected of him and so we assumed he was serious. Headcanons tend to do that.
