I actually like the avatars next to the threads.

 

It's pretty nice to be able to identify people instantly. However, if people have terrible avatars it looks kinda bad.

Though I was on SRK when I logged on today.

Yeah, you just have to go into "Preferences" in the dropdown beneath your username.

Yeah, I don't like it when people get like that about it and pretend that a change doesn't come with any negatives. It inevitably has problems and acknowledging them is important, otherwise you're just blinding yourself or trying to force your own opinions on others, neither of which is really graceful.
