My mom gave me twenty bucks to spend on food, so I'm going to the grocery store in a bit, though I do have my own money, so I'm not limited to the $20. The food needs to last me for the week, and I have a friend coming over tomorrow. I need coffee, but beyond that, what should I get?
No kidding... =u= I get 70 a week for groceries and sometimes that's enough. >< And I don't drink coffee... But I do eat out often. Geez, that's not much money. I'm sorry it was so little. I would suggest stuff on sale and cheap things you know you can eat that will last you and are good for you.
So, frozen sh*t basically. I mean, it's not like there's no food in the house or anything. It's just that a lot of it is 'family meals' that are meant to serve like 5 people. I could make a thing of Hamburger Helper and have it last like three days. But I should get more that just that, really.
Whenever I spend a day home alone, I usually get myself one of those Tostinos party pizzas. They're relatively cheap and can last for a good amount of the day for yourself.
Get things that are big packages of stuff, like Chicken nuggets or Chicken patties. My family is actually gone right now for a few days, I think they get back on Tuesday or Friday, and right now I have Chicken Patties, Mac & Cheese, and 1 thing of hamburger helper. Although I don't usually eat lunch; if I don't just end up skipping it entirely I choose to ignore it, so it saves food for dinner. And 1 box of cereal should be able to last you fine for a week, just make sure you're not greedy with it in the morning. But don't get ridiculously expensive stuff, because that can be the things that are 1 single item that doesn't even seem worth it
I am disappointed you didn't barge in just to shout, "MY PARENTS ARE DEAD--!" at the top of your figurative lungs. See icon.
Man I used to get 20 a week for just lunch, granted I'm sure having stuff there already was a factor. I've found that you can make a lot of the cheap stuff halfway decent if you doctor it up some. Like boxed mac and cheese if you add a bit of your own cheese and maybe some garlic if you have it. Even if you need to buy the cheese you can make some nachos or something to use the rest. Ramen is pretty easy to fix up too. Mixing together ground beef and BBQ sauce makes for pretty easy sloppy joes, but that is hard to shop for in small quantities. You might end up needing to make hamburgers or something to use up the rest. And if you get a sweet tooth. (1 cup sugar + 1 cup peanut butter + 1 egg) baked at 350 = some pretty good cookies.
Geez, this means easter you're going to be alone... That sucks... Same for me, but I'm at least going to have the money to buy stuff to make a great meal. :( And there's more than frozen ****... You could probably get some really cheap steak and maybe some chicken. I could get steak for me for 3 bucks sometimes. It was pretty good, too... Course, you could always just buy a huge keggar and sell tickets at the door for a huge party and get tons of money that way.
