My signature and avatar are from the movie, American Beauty, which you can see from my Netflix queue I rented back in May. I left a copy of it on my netbook's hard drive a long time before I finally got around to watching it about a week ago. As you can see, I fell in love with it.

You have very good tastes. Are you planning to add Fritz Lang's Metropolis to that list?

    Some more you might consider:

    Vampyr
    The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari
    A Clockwork Orange
    Requiem For A Dream
    Heathers

The last just came to mind. You may or may not like it, but I enjoyed it. Dark comedy.

Thanks for the list, I will consider each of those greatly. I have already seen A Clockwork Orange and Requiem for a Dream. I saw A Clockwork Orange only recently, but it's not on the list case I saw it on Netflix Instant. I still enjoyed it even though I'm not sure if I agree with it's message of morality.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
    L'Illusioniste
    Where the Wild Things Are
    Full Metal Jacket
    Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Varying quality, and favorites for different reasons. You have seen The Talented Mr. Ripley?

Out of those, I have seen: Let the Right One In (my first Netflix Instant movie, I wanted to see it together with Let Me In), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and yes, I have seen The Talented Mr. Ripley. I have been wanting to read the Ripley novels and watch the movie, Strangers on a Train.

I have heard great reviews for L'Illusioniste, and have wanted to see Where the Wild Things Are as as soon I as I saw the trailer on television. Full Metal Jacket is currently in my Netflix Instant queue.

Have you watched The Pianist? If not, I think maybe you should give it a shot.
