Maximum Ride: The Greatest Foe

Zen wondered what happened to that guy all through Math class, and finally it was over. Zen walked out of school and Elaine caught up with him. "Hey Zen" she said. "wanna walk me home" she asked.

"sure" Zen said. "See you tomorrow Angel" sen said to Angel as he and Elaine started walking

 

Angel stood up and left the school. "Alright.." She said a bit confused or up set. Angel walked lonley through the forest. She could look away from her feet. Angel was really depressed. When she saw the nest she made earlier, she kept walking on and didnt look at it any longer. She was wondering though thick forest. More she goes in more there is a chance of being attacked. Angel looked up to see where she was. But it all looked the same. Im lost...

 

Soon after Elaine and Zen started walking Elaine slowed and whispered to Zen "We're being watched" she said. She nodded toward the bushes behind them. Zen walked around he other side of the bushes and vanished.

Elaine then heard commotiion from behind there and ran to help.

 

Angel stode there alone, lost. She most likely walked at least 1 1/2 from the school by now. She decided to walk on and not try to get back to her nest or the school. Zen wouldnt care... He has Elaine..

 

Zen has the guy that was running away from the teachers in a headlock. Elaine suddenly appeared startled.

"Let go of me mutant!" shouted the guy. This didn't comfort Zen at all. "How do you know about me"Zen growled.

The guy suddenly escaped from Zen''s grip. "You think you're the only mutants in the school" The guy said angrily. "Mutants" said Zen and he looked at Elaine.

Elaine looked startled and dissappeared. She reappeared seconds later still embarrassed. "See Zen, your little sweetheart is one of you" The guy said. "And so am i" he added. blowing a little fire out of his mouth.

The guy sat down. "my name is Routra" he said "but call me Root" he said "sit down, i'll explain more"

 

Angel got stressed out about not knowing where to go, she shouted loudly, "ZEN!!!!!!!!" She waited and hoped he heared her. Angel let her wings out and flew up. She was scaning the ground looking for something.

 

Zen waved a hand through his dark brown hair and sat down, as did Elaine. Root started "My name is Root, i'm 17, i'm a mutant with fire and flying abilities. Don't tell anyone this but i dabble a bit in the shadows." Both Zen and Elaine knew that with the ability to use the shadows meant that you could summon swords and such from the shadows. It was mostlyused by evil people but some good ones also used it.

"But you have no wings" Elaine said. Root laughed

"Some mutants can fly without wings, if that's how the school made them" said Root. "but what aboout the teachers that were chasing you" Zen asked.

"Ah they were evil" Root said "they worked for the school and were trying to capture me. I was too smart and ran into the forest for a bit and secretly doubled back. I hid in the bushed for a bit and then you came and attacked me"

"Sorry" Zen said. "No problem" said Root with a smile. "We all souuld better get going" said Root standing up. "See you tomorrow Root" said Elaine. Root gave a nod and flew off. Elaine and Zen decided to fly also. Then Zen thought he heard his name being shouted. Elaine heard it too.

"well see you later" said Elaine checking her watch and then flying off. Zen flew in the direction of the shout then saw someone flying in the distance towards him.

 

Angel saw something in the distance. She couldny make it out but she knew it was Zen. "Zen!'' She shouted at him. Angel wasgettign closer to it.

 

Zen sped up a little "Hi Angel" he said when he got closer. "I thought you were at home" he said descending to the ground

 

Angel lowered closer to the ground and said to Zen, "I got lost..." She was lying a little. "So wheres Elaine...?" She asked looking around.

 

"Elaine went home" said Zen and his feet touched the ground. "Listen i just had the wierdest time.." He explained all about how Elaine was an experiment and all about Root. "So you see Angel, there are some good experiment children there also, but there are also some bad ones, like some of the teachers. So where do you live" Zen asked.

 

Angel looked around and sighed saying, ''I dont live anywhere."

 

Zen felt sorry and decided to help. "Well i live in a somewhat nice abandoned house. It has food, a kitchen and everything, plus a few rooms and an upstairs including 3 bathrooms. Wanna come stay with me until we find you a house, Angel?"

 

Angel looked at Zen and smiled. "That would help me alot! Thanks!" She said ready to follow Zen.

 

"Follow me" said Zen, spreading his wings. He rose into the airabove the trees and started flying. Checking behind him to make sure Angel was following him, they flew for a while. Finally they saw Zen's semi-house. And Zen decended to the ground. He opened the door. "come on in" said Zen, going inside.

 

Angel flew up following him. When he landed she did. Angel steped into his house. "Well its pretty nice." She said standing in the middle of the living room examining everything.

 

OOC: you don't mind if i include Max and the rest of the flock in this do you?

"you can pick any room you want" he said. "But that room's mine" he said pointing at the big room on the left. "There's a television in the living room" he said pointing too the living room in the right. It had a couch and a nice sized TV there.

"The kitchen is right there" he said pointing to the door right in front of them. There are 4 bathrooms here, 2 down here, 2 upstairs,all ave showers" he continued.

"That's the upstairs rooms, they have cable TV in all of them. He finished, pointing at the circular stairs. "Enjoy" he said, going to his room.

 

"Wow.... thats alot for a abandon home." She said going to the stairs and walking up. She found a nice sized bedroom with a bathroom by it and a window across from the stairs. She walked in and placed her school bag on the queen sized bed.

Zen cleaned up his room a bit and went into the living room to watch a show on the nice sized tv. It was almost nighttime so more comedy shows in this region were on. He turned to a channel and started watching.

 

Angel walked out of her room, down the stairs, to join him. She sat down by him and watched the show too on the good sized TV.
