That's so stupid is isn't even funny.

They said that when the law was voted on, the people were thinking "Felony" rather than 50 cents. You can get coins that equal that amount.

    Epic fail in it's finest.

The guy has stolen before, but still 77 years is a little harsh. There's some other dude who murdered 2 kids and got jail for 20 years. So, basically, he would've been in jail for less years if he killed someone.

    "What're you in jail for?"
    "Well, I-uh-stole a donut..."

This has got to be the most ridicules thing I've ever heard. Our legal system needs some serious adjustments. They say the man committed 2 offences in the past and I bet they were probably worse than this. That's why I think they should have put him jail for a reasonable amount of time for his 1st offense instead of pardoning them.

    Every government has problems.

But the U.S. has the most.

What a load of bullshit. Locking up a man for stealing ****ing donuts for .50 damn cents. FOR 77 YEARS. That is ABSURD.

Woah no offence but i never thought the American government can go that low to send a man to 77 in prison for donuts, There have been people who steal cars and that and they get less time. Also on the other hand.. why was he so desperate for the donuts, I mean it's 50c

I want to know how they add up to 77 years. I know one guy managed to get around 1.000 years for loads of child pron... But I really do not think that this guy should get 77 years. Everyone agrees the doughnuts are not worth it. (We will overcharge them, they are 7 years.) If he did things that warrent 45 years in prision, then I think he should be in prison serving the 45 years, rather than being allowed out to commit another 45 year crime, then allowed out again, but have the book thrown at his when he puts a toe out of line.

Edit: Holy crud. I just realised, that is two sentences. Better fix that!
