So... going through life this way and that and not being able to work on my stories, I have decided to attempt at kind of like a free verse poetry... once more. *coughs*

This first one I wrote while I was at work just a couple of days ago. Just some questions came in mind, and then I wrote it all down on receipt paper in between rush hours and dead hours.

    How

How do you tape together a shattered heart?
How do you wrap a blanket around a frozen soul?
How do you tell all your fears to part?
How do we find the courage to let it all go?

How do you be proud for how much you've grown?
How do you stand in darkness and be reserved?
How do you whisper in your head, "It's okay to be alone"?
How do you then embrace the love you deserve?

So many questions my, dear child
So many wishes that you desire.
Be patient and let time tell you how,
How to heal, mend, how beautiful you are to you
And in time, how to save someone else

It must be said,I really loved this poem.
    And I generally hate poetry.
But the way it was said out made it both easy to read, and very nice to look at.
The sounds, and just the general flow was great, and what the poem was actually about...
It was just beautiful. From the first two stanzas,to the change of theme in the last...
Oh I just loved it. Wonderful work my dear, please do keep it up <3

Thank you you two. ^^ I really didn't expect anyone to leave any comments, so sorry if this is a bit late. :'D

I wrote another poem, more like a narrative one, for my college class. I was suppose to write something for little kids to read, and make a book with it. I made pictures with it (drew with crayons!), but sadly I didn't have enough time to scan it in my computer before I had to hand it in. :(

But this is what I wrote, so I hope you'll like it... Just a heads up, it's a bit long. I suck at shortening stories. ><

    I also posted this in the Wonderland event going on. ^^;

    Here we go:

    A Valentine for Princess Roo

Once in the kingdom of Ellakazoo
There lived a princess named Princess Roo.
Princess Roo was of the snobbish sort
After all, she was respected by the royal court.
With fluffy dresses, hair-do piled high
She had many friends, that was no lie.

Those of high class, she looked to with awe
But those grimy servants, she hoped she never saw.
To Princess Roo, they were gross, icky, and slime
She much preferred her fancy friends who sparkled and shined.
But oh despite the warnings from his kin
There was one servant boy who looked at the princess and grinned.

He was skinny and tall, a shabby chap
He mostly worked in the kitchen, making royal snacks.
His ears were enormous; he had a gap in his teeth
He was the awkward duck, and his mom called him Keith.

Now Keith had his heart on the princess of Ellakazoo
Even though his brother Kurt said, “That will never do.”
Although she turned her nose up at him in spite
Keith saw her as very sweet and polite

Keith said, “How I do hope that someday she’ll see
That there’s so much more to me.
I am not all grime and slime
Everyone after all can be divine.”

And then he got his wish one day,
When Princess Roo was caught in the rain
Her fluffy dress was soon speckled in mud
And her up-do hair became a dud
Her fantastic friends scattered and scrammed
For Princess Roo was the ugliest girl in the land

When Princess Roo fell on the floor and began to cry
Poor Servant Keith came over and gave her a tissue to dry her eyes
The princess did not turn her nose up at him this time
She only sat there and sighed

Then Keith remember something he made
And pulled out something that had a pink shade.
He gave it to Princess Roo who sniffed and just stared
“For you,” he said. “It’s something I want to share.”
The princess took the work of art
And unfolded it to find it was shaped like a heart.

Her cheeks were red as she saw the words
Which made her giggle and her spirit sing like birds
On the heart was written a poem
And Keith’s cheesy words were shown.

“Roses are red, violets are blue,
Rich, poor, mean, nice, or a bore,
I’ll always like you for you,
    You make my heart soar.”

From that day forth, Princess Roo saw something new
And the love for all different kinds of people within her grew
For she learned that even slimey servants shined
And everyone was beautiful in someone else’s eyes

    ~THE END~

Written on the spur of feelings... Eh, not really much to explain here.

    ~Unknown Title for This One~

My hand presses against the glass
    Everything is so abstract
The world is out of reach
    Blocked by this thick sheet

The sun shines, no light enters in
Grass and trees flourish, I cannot touch
People pass on by, deaf to my voice
I see what it’s like, and cringe
I have lost all hope and trust
I can’t make my own choice

Pounding it, punching it, the window stays still
To wait, to see it unfold without you kills
Days go on, I’m not there
Time to say hello to my old friend Despair…

Warmth, on the other side of the glass
I open my eyes and see
Another hand pressed against my own
So foreign, unreal, something only in the past
But he’s there, staring right at me
In his eyes, I see he knows

“Do you want to be free?†his lips move
Was this true? Or was it cruel?
The sheet began to crack, part, and disappear
Leaving me to make the choice I feared

    Freedom

These two poems I wrote to begin a couple of private Roleplays off this site. I actually really liked them, even though I made them up on the spot and some of them are really sloppy.

This first one was for a Kingdom Hearts themed RP. Very short... but yeah. ^^ I don't really have a tilte for it.

Memories are scattered but near, alas all is not what it seems to appear
Broken hearts and shattered dreams, come together once more and sing
For within the darkness lies the brightest light, so please take my hand and hold on tight

And this one was written for my character who is a condemned witch, forced to wander the modern world. Also, I really don't have a title for this one either.

Stars so dim but so shine, twinkle, stay, and never die
So I am a wanderer of stars, so I am a nomad of dreams
To children, the nightmares of the waking dead
To shadows, the love that only the pure can see

Stars so dim but so shine, twinkle, stay, and never die
So I am a wanderer of stars, so I am a nomad of dreams
Be free, so the wind will sing
Be still, and see what is meant to be

Hey guys! Finally back into poetry writing. Woot. I found this one I made a while ago in my old Deviantart, and if I remember right... This was the time I was having difficulty with a "friendship". It's so cool going back and reading it now, because it's like... I was talking to my future self, me. If that makes any sense... So enjoy, and yeah. xD I thiiiink I didn't post this before... Hopefully I didn't. >> But yeah, have fun reading it.

The Way It's Suppose to Be

    Life's vibrant golden days
    Stagnant now, peel, and fade;
Light once there, but is no more
Darkness once never here, wraps around the soul
Coldness, bitterness, pierces the very core
Watch me as I fall further in my own sinkhole.

To you, I am all but gone
    And maybe I am
You snuffed the life I had left inside
Now there is no choice but to hide
No hope for this wretched pawn
I am nothing more than a hopeless sham

    But look, something is ahead
Maybe after all I'm not left for dead.
A soft voice calls, a hand reaches forward
"No!" came my scream, "I can't!"
But it was my hour, a voice answered
I could only listen to the descant

    A warmth envelopes the ice
Tears that shattered the world all but dry
Arms hold me tightly, there is no price
Something tells me to say goodbye
    I am wonderful, brilliant, bright
Something tells me this is right

This is the way to be

Wrote this on the spur of the moment. Today was kind of a hard day for me. Been battling myself since I woke up this morning to face the day. Not looking for pity or anything, just sharing my thoughts. This one isn't fluffy and cute, so just a heads up. If you don't like depressing things, don't read it.Spoiler tags are not working right for me, so just don't scroll down if you don't wish to read it.

    The Disease of Us

The disease resides within the heart
Or the head, or both, and never departs
    Its whispers, whispers never cease
Clattering, clattering and not at all at peace

Silence in the sanctuary penetrates the core
Of this virus and leaves pour souls sore
Distractions of thoughts, melodies, and worlds beyond ours
Destroys, infects, feeds the ailment all hours

Weakened, soon can go on no more
Nothing seems real there is no door
To lead out of this nightmare of suffering
    And pain, cluttering, cluttering

There is no end to this it seems
No cure to reach for or vaccines
    Shadows are thick and tight
Obscuring the view from the light

    Tears are cold and fresh
    Limbs, ensnared by a mesh
The reality is thwarted, cries unheard
No matter how loud they scream, still scourged

Victims it claims are those who are lost
Who stand in crowds and feel oft
That they do not belong to this place
Or anywhere and are heavy with weights

No one to trust, or to blame
For this thing puts sufferers to shame
The culprit of this forever plague is Loneliness
    Of this sickening, sickening illness

I'm glad you didn't follow the rules of rhyme as religiously as some poets do; you held on to a certain kind of freedom and it was obviously a commendable choice. Great poem; I enjoyed reading it, heavy theme notwithstanding.

Sorry for the delayed thank you, but thank you very much for commenting on my poem. Made me feel speckled for a bit. ^^

This is a poem I wrote based on my insomnia and oversleeping. Depression does funny things to you, and not giving you peace at all is just one of the things it does. If I'm awake, I cry and feel horrible. If I'm asleep, I have nightmares and bad dreams. And it's just a constant struggle... so here we go.

    My Weary Head

There’s a time of peace and rest, they all say
But my theory might make them insane
For when I close my eyes and dream
It’s shadows and sorrows as far as I can see

Moonlight, sunlight, nightlight, flashlight, no light
It doesn’t matter; the tears roll and the brain will fight
Monsters love my closet, and ghouls devour my visions
The fear, the depression, and the anxiety are the provisions

Night falls, and let the games begin
Morning comes, seeing is a sin
Oh will it just let me rest?
But I think it’ll never hear my protests

Thank you Tummer and Styx for the comments, much appreciated.

This one is a crap poem I wrote on the spot. Oooooh, Maka is so dramatic isn't she? Very much so.

I'm Not What I Seem To Be

There once was a girl who was all smiles and flowers
She gave all she had and made friends with all around her
Her giggles filled the world with happiness and love
Her smile was soft, just like the wings of a dove

And then one fateful day, everything changed
The girl found sorrow and became dismayed
Her joyful realm was all but a dream
And really it was was a nightmare it seemed

Hope and laughter had long faded away
Hands reach out, some slapped, some were in the way
No one to trust, no one to blame
Save herself, she was really ashamed

You wouldn't believe it if I said the girl was me
Who hides under a smile, and pretends nothing is as bad as it seems
You may say I complained and I asked for this
You may be right, and I deserve it

There are days I just wished I faded away
Like in those video games, and I'm not afraid
There's no way I can describe the anguish going on inside of me
Because no words can touch on the hell that I feel and see

So take my advice and stay away from this girl
I locked myself away, many of my "friends" became gnarled
You'll only get wounded if you get too close
To the one who is not all sunshine and roses

    Welcome to My Insanity

I feel rather insane in the brain
Perhaps it’s because I played too many charades
Whatever the case may be, I don’t know what’s up or down
I dunno the sights or the people around

I’ve gone nuts, I’ve gone bonkers
My parents think I’m some wonker
I’m staying up late hours in the night
Never getting the rest I need, oh sigh, sleep tight

Alone fighting with this monster in my head
“I’m a demon child, and mad woman” it said
Can I speak? No, no more
Just use the blade until the skin grows sore

    My lips are sealed shut
I must play as the puck
To be submissive, yes, that is what the Good Lord said dear
When I say no, then comes the worse fears

I’m not the angel child you envisioned me to be
When you had the chance, you should have disposed of me
Now you have this THING running around
And maybe it should probably drown

“Excuses, excuses and foul play!” they scream
“She is not all what she seems!”
“Off with her head, no more we’ll wait!”
“Plunge her in the darkness, it’s what she can take.”

I scream silence and there is none
I sit and wait, there will no more be sun
No one is the culprit but me
Pity, woe, don’t look at her and see

    Cheshire smile, everything is fine
No matter the swirls of anger, come sit and dine
    A fake, coward, ashamed
No one to point at or to blame

“Guilty, however. Guilty is what she is!”
Scorns and fingers, oh I’m such a sin
And thus beings the cycle again
And then they wonder why she pouts and never grins

    “A parable, a parable,” she’ll say
“To those who do not understand my ways.”
Then she rests and no words come
Then others begin to ponder “What have we done?”

    “Nothing, nothing,” cries one
“Everything, everything” says she and runs
For her mind is like a maze
Guess the riddles, and it’ll leave her amazed

The Curse of Insomnia And Sleep

    Sleep now, it says
Stay awake, the other one tries
To close my eyes and go many different ways
Or to stare, think too much, and sigh

The eyes are heavy, spirits are dancing
The heart aches, shadows are prancing
    Thoughts cannot be explained
Patterns, words, ideas seem the same

    Croak, goes the voice
    Gestures are unseen
Silence seems to be the only choice
As films of thoughts begin to lose their sheen

Who Is To Tell You So?

    Society is spinning
    You keep on grinning
    Rules die
    But you're alive

    Breaths whisper who is right
And then they sneer who is not
There you are, standing in the light
Seemingly they cannot hurt you, they cannot

    Be skinny, be fat
    Be boring, be a gnat
    Be sad, be cheerful
    Be yourself, be not fearful

Words are just words, you know?
Labels will be labels, so what?
Give them your best, give them a show
Keep your head high, never leave the door shut
