Actually, we need to get Paladin too...

 

ooc so to bring in L and Near again... Could Beyond make an appearance?

 

Sure, that would be cool. It's really up to Paladin though.

 

OOC: Mello said in the story that L and Near would not be back for several days, I think it's a bit early seeming as how it's only been a day. About Beyond... I could try.

IC: Outside of the university, a young man, around L's age, paced just outside the gate, observing it, trying to find the quickest, most quiet way to get through without being caught. Along the sides of the gate were thin, newly planted bushes; they wouldn't be of any use. Having given up on the front gate, he searched for another method.

'Ah, fuck this,' he thought, walking toward the back and hopping the fence. he then proceeded to walk around to the front of the school, entering without the guard appointed for the very reason of stopping trespassers even noticing.

'That was so easy it was pathetic!' he thought, 'What is L thinking?'

He looked around the school for a bit, until he found exactly what he was looking for. An imprint on a door that read simply "L" in an old Gothic lettering. He stood, analyzing the door to it's every last detail, thinking of what he would do next. He was almost certain, for some reason or another, that L wouldn't turn him away, and the only other person who knew of him was that little 'Mello' (Or something along those lines) kid.
Oh yeah, and Watari. Being Watari's possibly biggest mistake,he was almost sure if Watari found him, it wasn't going to be good.

But, then again, being a serial killer isn't that grand of a thing either, nor is escaping from jail and stalking the man that beat you at your own metaphorical game, or creating a fake student ID for use in stalking said man. There are many more things to list here, but I'm guessing you get the point by now.

He reached for the knob to open the door, but something stopped him. he paused and nibbled viciously at his thumbnail, before deciding, "Well, it would seem as though there is some sort of talk going on... Beyond should be a good student and wait out here," he mumbled quietly, sitting in L's trademark position on the floor just outside the principal's office.

IC-

Koian closed her eyes while her head was on the table. "So tired.." She moaned loudly.

 

Just laughed a bit. "Wanna just go outside now? I can get a pass form the nurse to skip orchestra."

 

"Sure." She moaned again standing up and dragging her butt out of the cafeteria.

Just walked alongside Koi, barely able to walk, down the hall to the offices. Just noticed a man who looked remarkably similar to L, but he could tell he was a different person.

Just quickly got the note and whispered to Koi, "Does that guy look like L to you?"

 

"What guy?" She asked tired. "I was to tired to notice him i guess.." She said yawning still walking down the hall.

 

Does she really want me to point...

Just casually nodded his head towards the man in the crouched position facing L's door.

"I know it's not L, what would he be doing crouching in front of his door?"

 

OOC- Would seriously piss Mello off to have them come back early though lol, he finally gets a chance to be incharge and loses it all before it even began because Near was a little smartarse and helped L solve a case in no time at all or something. XD

Matt was walking down the corridor towards the Headmaster's office, the bleeping of a game on one of his many game consols that he kept upon his person at all times aluring to the fact he was playing on of his thounds of videos-games as he looked around at the various students milling around. The school always amazed him as it was one of the few places that you could get a group of so many teenagers, be they talented or not, and not have fights breaking out left right and center.

Even at Wammy's they'd had countless arguements, brawls, beating-ups and even at one point an all out riot between those who were friends with Mello and those that thought Mello was being a right little toerag towards Near who'd never really done anything other then be one step ahead of Mello, whom until Near's arrival had always been the best. Matt himself however had always stayed well clear of the battle between them, only stepping in when he belived that either Near was about to get very seriously mauled by a outraged Mello or when he felt Mello was stepping over the line between jealousy and plain old bullying. But, unfortuntely Matt couldn't be there all the time. So there had been the odd occasion Mello had taken things one step too far, but Near had never ended up in hospital to his recollection. And that wasn't down to Mello not being strong enough, or not wanting to at times. But just because someone always stepped in in the nick of time. Normally him, but sometimes the grown-ups and once or twice another child.

Then as his eyes wandered towards the office door. And standing there was a man who looked a lot like his mentor, L. But it wasn't him, although the likeness was extra ordinary. If you had not seen L for any lengh of time you would have no clue that they weren't the same person. When looked closley enough at this man had several large differences: His nose, wasn't long enough to be L; his hair, it was just a slight tad off of the shade of slightly blueish black of L's; and most importantly his eyes, although Matt could obviously not see the natuarly occuring Shinigami eyes that Beyond Birthday possed his eyes seemed wrong. Very wrong. They were filled with something that Matt didn't even believe that L was capable of feeling. A strange longing mixed with obbesssion and more then just a hint of pure blood lust. The effect was so unnerving. It was like looking at L how he could of been if he'd cracked under the pressure of being 'The World's Greatest Dective' it was so freakishly creepy that Matt almost wanted to run in the other direction and deny that he'd ever seen the man. But he had the feeling that this man was someone that couldn't be ignored. He knew he had to tell someone, anyone that this man was here. Though, he didn't really know who... After all, L wasn't there. And neither was Near, who he knew would tell L no matter what. He was stuck with the bi-polar chocoholic. "Oh this is just great..." He muttered to himself. The one time L is gone and someone who looks that dangerous shows up at the same time as Kira Junior. Mello better hope like hell he's a good as he likes to believe.

"No need to thank me. I'm happy to help, even if it's only listening for a bit. My barks worse then my bite." He chuckled in a rather desperate bid to lighten the mood. An attempt he had a feeling was rather futile but still, he felt like it was an obligation to cheer her up a little. "Have you told any of your friends Diary? Snake, or any other friends you've picked up here. I'm sure they'd appreciate being let in so they can help you get through this. And like I said, telling people makes you feel better. Though even if you'd rather not stay I'll be happy to talk to you again."

 

Koian looked over at the L like man. "Yeah..." She said quietly still walking.

 

The resemblance between the stranger and L was uncanny, but there were noticeable differences. The only thing that took Just's attention off of him was the approaching Matt.

That's Mello's goon... Better be careful.

"Well, whatever. Let's go."

 

"Alright. Oh! By the way, I have track practice tonight. This weekend we have a meet." Koian said walking down the hall with Just. She noticed Matt and sighed.

 

Just continued, "Oh, nice. What schools are participating?"

Matt continued walking down the hall. Just could tell that he noticed the L-like character also.

Does Matt recognize him? I wonder if this guy is even authorized to be in the school...

 

Koian smiled and said, "Im not sure. But I know there not a good school as us. There- Dare I say it, Public Schools." The thought of the schools of the public she once went to made her shunder.

 

"Hehe, so I guess you're gonna win then. Well what are you running?" he said, smiling.

 

Koian hit her forehead and said, "I told you already. Did you already forget?" She smiled after taking her hand off her head.
