Iraqi family embraces life with old enemy

I thought this ironic, a bit tragic and altogether inconducive to future opinion of refugees in the future.

Basically, Iraqi family is accidentally attacked by Australian soldier when they were mistook for enemy fighters. Australian government later grants them entry into Australia for specialist medical treatment. The Al-Saadi family is grateful and "professes gratitute" (as described by them) for the lifestyle they have.

Despite the injuries they've suffered in war (accidentally, and not intentionally), they've decided to sue the same government which allowed into the country in the first place.

I can understand the grievance they have with their injuries. But it was an accident, not intentional and were specifically given specialist treatment by the Australian government (for injuries incurred) and subsequently granted permanent residency. Furthermore, Australian government policies regarding refugee welfare benefits are extremely generous (they get more welfare money from the government than Australian pensioners).

Are they entitled to sue, or are they being ungrateful?

I live near them... wonder what school they go to?

Anyway, I kind of agree and disagree at the same time. Like they we're shot yes, but how can you take a family for being the enemy? That's really confusing. Also it doesn't seem that the soldier has done anything to help the family, so yeah with all the trauma, they should have some comfort.
