Square-Enix Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Announced

Well I don't know anything about Type-0, so don't expect me to know anything that might relate the two, except for what you just told me

Did all the "MOAR HUMAN CHARACTERS ON PARTY" not give them a clue?

The new battle system does seem interessing though.

 

I never heard someone complain about the past games having too few characters, actually. I've heard complaints about the characters being bad, but that's about it. They actually did get a fair bit of praise for XIII-2's party system and Crisis Core is also one of their best recieved games in recent years, which only had one character. I'd say Square is just following what people seem to like.

 

When 13-2 came a lot of people complained about no Hope/Snow/Sazh/Lightning/Vanille/Fang playable and about being stuck with Serah and Noel only, that's what I meant.
Granted, the DLC kind of fixed that, even though it wasn't all of them and locked each in a role.

Guess it's just because of the style of the game, it being more like Crisis Core and all, but I wish it would follow Versus/Type-0 and have multiple characters you can switch between, while the others help you while being controlled by the AI.

 

Huh, I must have missed that. Fair enough then.

My preference is actually similar to yours here, however it can be nice with some variety on how it works. One party member instead of several can be nice. Of course, I say variety when one of those games will never be released in the West and the other one will never come out.

 

Got to say, I'm rather excited for this one. Lets hope it can be tied in with Versus XIII to a certain extent.
