Life in Forks.

"Yes." he said. "But that means I have to go someplace else every few years. I'd rather stay in one spot. Like here in Forks, with you." He whispered the 'with you' part.

 

"Why would you have to change places?" she asked.

 

"So people don't get suspicious that I don't age." he said, relieved and saddened that she didn't hear him say 'with you.'

 

She gave him a simple look.
"Oh," she said. She looked around the forest again and it had gotten darker. She could see the trail clearly but it was still dark.
"Wow... " she said, then bumped into a tree.

 

"Are you okay?" he asked. "Maybe we should head back."

 

She nodded to his first question.
"Come on, I don't want to leave now," she whined.

 

"Alright." he said. "But hold my hand so we don't get seperated."

 

She chuckled.
"Nice try..." she winked.
"I'm not into relationships that much....since a few years ago," she said.

 

He blushed and asked "Who said anything about a relationship? I just wanted to make sure you didn't get lost!"

 

"It's pretty good, but I don't eat a lot.. I went hunting last week, so I'm good to go for a couple more weeks" She said.

 

"You were implying it though," she said.
"And besides... If you ever need to know if i'm into that stuff, I'm not," she said.

He smiled.
"I haven't hunted in a few weeks... And i'm still good for a little while." he winked.

 

"We'll go together next time" She smiled. The waitress took my plate away and got me another coke.

 

"Alright." he said, a little depressed from her answer.

 

"So... lets get to know each other a little more... Your brother.. How is he with boys his sister brings home?" he chuckled.

She noticed the depression in his voice.
"Something wrong?" she asked.

 

"I'm fine." he lied.

 

"well, he's just protective, he's overall a pretty nice guy." She said taking a sip of her coke. "Just try not to get on his bad side. do you have any siblings?"

 

"You're lying," she said.

"I had two sisters... Only one now," he said looking down at his hands.

 

"You're right." he said, looking down. "I was just hoping you weren't against relationships."

 

"Oh... I'm sorry. May I ask what happened to her?" She asked.

 

"Why were you hoping?" she asked gently

Drake sighed, not as normally as he should.
"It's....rather difficult to talk about, but she was killed by a tracker," he said, clenching his hand.
