... You do not know very much, do you? Books are the greatest source of knowledge and entertainment in the world.

Libraries and other archives are the single most useful things in existence. Any scholar throughout history would agree with me. Not that I appreciate 'public' libraries or school libraries... I would rather have something like a book rental store with membership passes than constantly have to worry about the state threatening to cut out the library if we did not pay a higher property tax. I could pay the library directly and not worry about censoring books at that...

During college, you'll find that the library is like a second home. They sell food, you can sleep on the couches for as long as you want, friends meet up there, there is better internet, and their are also a couple books here and there.

I don't believe that any library near me has video games. But there is a decent collection of music.

Although not for this particular case, it might be worth it to invest in a cheap disk cleaner like Skip Dr. It ends up costing pretty little to repair each disk and is just more convenient

it hasn't become like that for me. I don't even use my college's library since I can never find anything useful there

Yeah, pretty much. One library is not as good as another library, or else you would not have to go looking for books at other places.

Why should the library pay? You got it for free. Plus, you should've checked the disc before you left in-case there were any scratches so they don't blame you for it once you bring it back.

umm, because it's their property, and they should check to see if the disk is even playable so someoen doesn't rent it and find out that they can only play it for a certain amount of time. And I've gotten plenty of disks that have scratches, but this one was so bad that it couldn't play.

If you have to pay to take it out, then that is renting. However, a friend does not have to pay you for letting you borrow a broken game. Then he takes losses for giving you something.
