n = a + b
n > a
n > b

For any values a and b that add up to equal n.

 

but if a or b were negative values the n would be less than the other value .-.

I did put a plus sign there for a reason. It only applies if the plus sign is valid. Alternately,

n = n
n = a - b
n < a
n > b
