If you aren't really laughing, please don't use so many exclamation points. It's obnoxious.

    Seriously?
What do you want from them in order for them to prove it?
    Photos of the corpse?
Why would they release said photos? They don't do it with any other undesirables.
Heads of states don't call emergency press confrences just to tell a lie to boost their political career or to ensure people stop worrying about a matter, espically if they are the first of their kind, i.e. first black president.

I didn't even know who Bin Laden was until this morning. What a lovely topic of breakfast.

Yeah, shows how much I listen. I have heard of him before but Iassumed he was some bad historical figure who did some rather evil stuff many years ago.

Ha! On what do you base that last claim? Heads of state have all of the power that they could want. I don't think that this has anything to with boosting a political career so much as managing information for other threats to find. Not only did they tell the public, but the world. That is a great risk, with Osama being such an influential character as he is. On what basis could you argue against the following scenario?

I believe it quite possible, and possible, mind, that instead of being thoroughly inept, they have known where he is for a very long time, or have had him for as long, but have not released information about it because said information would be valuable to someone else. Probably someone not of this country, or perhaps an organization, it doesn't really matter; the point is that this information is almost surely valuable on an international level. They have many reasons for bringing up such a... Publicized issue; or keeping quiet about it, just the same.

True, they do - espically when it comes to super-powered countries. But under the current political system of America they have to either resign or get re-elected after their first term, which Obama is nearing.
I don't think it does either, but conspiracists do - hence me stating that. I don't know why Feenie
wonders if it is true or not, rather I covered a base for later. If it is the conspiracy theory that Osama is still alive and Obama made the announcement then I don't need to worry about establishing any more main points as that is the center of my argument against that particular theory is what I said at the end.

Well that's the thing. I'm not arguing about how they did it.
I'm arguing that they've told the turth.
Until they release more information that's it.

Mmm. I don't doubt that he's dead more than I doubt that he is alive, but I don't believe that they are telling us the whole story, and why he was killed now. On top of the many reasons for withholding the information, they have not had a good track record for releasing it in the past. Consider Wikileaks, and the fact that Julian Assange is still under house arrest, unable to go back to his "home" country.

Taking that a bit further, why release this information at all? Does it affect anyone aside from spreading and shifting political weight? Aside from whether or not the world should know, a head of state has no reason to tell us about Osama. It's not our business unless we ask for information about it... And that is all political. Does information like this affect the public aside from boosting public opinions?
